Starting next Monday, we will be providing breakfast and lunch to BCSD students and Berkeley County children throughout the summer. The program is free to all children under 18. Check out the summer meal site locations at www.bcsdschools.net/summermeals. 🍉

As a way of continuing to promote child nutrition and adding to the many celebrations capping the end of the school year, Berkeley County School District’s Office of Child Nutrition Services will launch a special giveaway next week (May 20–24) that will offer some big prizes.

Elementary, middle and high school students eating lunch and/or breakfast next week will be entered into a drawing for prizes that include, but are not limited to:

*iPads
*Wireless earbuds/headphones
*Underwater cameras
*Projectors
*Action cameras
*Bluetooth speakers

Students will receive one entry into the drawing for each meal they eat. Winners will be drawn at random, and those who eat multiple meals will obviously have an increased chance of winning.

The "JKE vs Testing" Pep Rally has us pumped up! Thank you to Timberland High School's Band, Cheerleaders, and Basketball Team for cheering us on and sharing some great testing tips as we prepare for end of the year testing. During the Pep Rally, students participated in Minute to Win games and each homeroom class competed in a very heated cheer competition. Congratulations to Ms. Barcus' fourth grade class for winning the competition and best of luck to ALL students on testing!

Career Day 2024 was a special one! There were many presenters that were former students of JKE or grew up in this area. To our presenters: North Berkeley Fire Department, Pineville/Russellville Fire Department, Berkeley County Sheriff Department, Berkeley Electric Co-op, Mrs. Kelsey McCray-Brown of Kelsey's Hair Boutique, South Carolina DNR, Ms. Ebony Butler of the Messy Hummingbird, Ms. Shakara Parks of NuNufi3rce, SC Army National Guard, Berkeley County EMS, Attorney Steve Davis, Berkeley County Marine Patrol, Nurse Practitioner - Cilantay Wilson and Tamara Davis, RN. THANK YOU for sharing your careers with the students at JKE!!
