✨ Meet the Team: 2026-2027 Staff Spotlight ✨

Next up is our Instructor, Andréa "Kookaburra" Bordelon!

Andréa is beginning her second year with the Pelican State STARBASE team and her 11th year in education. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Western Governors University in 2021 and is passionate about helping students discover the excitement of STEM.

When she's not at STARBASE, you'll likely find her:
🥾 Hiking scenic trails
🤿 Scuba diving and exploring beneath the waves
🌎 Traveling to new places and experiencing new adventures

Andréa's favorite part of teaching is witnessing those unforgettable "aha!" moments when students make connections, build confidence, and realize just how exciting science, technology, engineering, and math can be.

We're grateful to have Kookaburra's enthusiasm, adventurous spirit, and passion for education as part of the Pelican State STARBASE team. Here's to another amazing school year!

Next up is our Office Manager, Brittany "Crow" Hagan!

Brittany joined the Pelican State STARBASE team in 2024 and helps keep the program running behind the scenes. From coordinating school schedules and managing purchasing to tracking data and supporting daily operations, she plays an important role in ensuring thousands of fifth-grade students have an engaging and memorable STEM experience each year.

When she's not at STARBASE, you'll likely find her:
🧁 Baking sweet treats for her home bakery, Oven & Bloom
📊 Creating spreadsheets and organizing data
🎓 Studying full-time for her Accounting degree
👨‍👩‍👧 Spending time with her daughter and preparing to welcome another little one

Brittany enjoys combining creativity with organization to support students, teachers, and schools across Louisiana. Whether she's planning engaging STEM experiences, building the perfect spreadsheet, or creating something delicious in the kitchen, she loves finding ways to make ideas come to life.
