🌟 PANTHER SPOTLIGHT: CAROLINE CUTLER

Today we’re shining the spotlight on freshman Caroline Cutler!

Caroline is one of those people who brings joy wherever she goes. She is positive, kind, full of life, and always shows up ready to work. Whether it’s a tough workout, a long run, or race day, Caroline brings a smile, a great attitude, and a work ethic that continues to impress us.

And running isn’t the only place Caroline shines! When she’s not out on the cross country course, she is a competitive dancer in jazz, contemporary, and ballet. 🩰The dedication, discipline, and determination she brings to dance are the same qualities we see from her every day as a runner.

As a freshman, Caroline is just getting started, and we are so excited to watch her continue to grow, chase her goals, and discover just how much she is capable of.

Keep shining, Caroline! We are so proud to have you as a Northside Panther! 🐾

🌟 Panthers Glowing for a Great Cause! 🌟

Several of our Northside Cross Country runners hit the streets of Washington last night for the Hannah’s Heroes 5K Glow Run, supporting a wonderful cause while continuing to put in the work! 🐾

A huge congratulations to Caroline Cutler, who earned an incredible 2-minute PR, running alongside teammate Cadee Skiles!

We are so proud of Cassidy, Collin, Caroline, and Cadee for continuing to push themselves both on and off the course. It’s always special to see our Panthers using their love of running to support their community.

Keep running, keep growing, and keep shining, Panthers! ✨

About two months ago, I told one of my athletes I would start running again in the fall.

On the first day of fall, September 22nd, one of my athletes sent me a text:

“Hi Mrs. Schulte, this is [enter his name]. The first day of fall is today at 8:15 pm and you told me you’re gonna start running again once fall starts. I am excited for you to start up again!”

When I got the text, I burst into laughter.

Accountability; it’s a funny thing.

I ask a lot of my kiddos. To show up. To be respectful. To be kind. To give me their all.

But accountability goes both ways.

So here I am, day two of running with my kiddos again, slower than a turtle with three legs in peanut butter, but I’m out here.

And now I’m the one getting the words of encouragement.

“High five, Schulte!”
“Way to go, Schulte!”

The same words of encouragement I’ve given them countless times when they’re out on the course pushing through a hard mile, a tough workout, or a day when their legs just don’t want to cooperate.

Running is a funny thing. It requires grit, a strong mind, and a whole lot of heart. It teaches you to keep going when things are uncomfortable, to show up even when you aren’t the fastest, and to understand that sometimes the biggest victory is simply keeping the promise you made to yourself; and apparently, to a teenager who has a very good memory.

I’m thankful for athletes who hold me accountable the same way I hold them accountable. I’m thankful for kids who cheer for me just as loudly as I cheer for them. And I’m thankful that somewhere along the way, the lessons stopped only going from coach to athlete.

Sometimes, they come right back around.

They remind me to show up.
They remind me to keep going.
They remind me that encouragement matters.

And most importantly, they remind me that being their coach is just as much about who they are helping me become as it is about who I’m helping them become.

So, here’s to day two. Slow, humbled, slightly sore but showing up. ❤️

Today we are thankful. Thankful for athletes who treat each other like family. Parents who cheer and love on their teammates like they are their own children.

Today I am thankful and so proud of our team and how they handled themselves in the face of adversity.

I am so proud of all of the PRs and hard work each of these kids continues to put in. Both Luke and William had an outstanding performance coming in the top 20 out of over 100 runners. Luke, William, Colten, Jackson, Cassidy, Miller, Caroline, and Selena all had personal best performances for the season.

I am just thankful and grateful for each of them and their families.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK — BLAKE WAINWRIGHT! 🐾

Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Blake Wainwright!

Blake is one of those athletes who can always make us laugh and bring a smile to the team, but when it’s time to work, he gets after it!

Blake has been working incredibly hard and battled back in a BIG way this week, running a season-best 18:39 and cutting about 30 seconds off his previous time! 🔥

☀️🐎 Chasing Sunshine on the course and in the arena!

Our Panther runner Tucker Ipock knows a thing or two about speed! When she isn’t putting in the miles with Cross Country, you can find her in the arena barrel racing with her horse, Looking for Sunshine! 🐎☀️

Tucker is the kind of student-athlete every coach loves to have around. She is kind, respectful, hardworking, and always willing to put in the work to get better. Whether she’s racing toward the finish line on two feet or flying around barrels on four, Tucker brings determination and heart to everything she does.

We love getting to celebrate all the amazing things our Panthers do beyond the XC course!🐾

☀️ Cadee is truly a ray of sunshine on and off the course!

Not only is she a talented runner, hard worker in and out of the classroom, and an awesome teammate, but she also shows goats! 🐐💙

Meet Darla, Cadee’s adorable 4.5-month-old goat! We love getting to celebrate all the amazing things our Panther athletes do outside of running, too.

Keep shining and working hard, Cadee! ☀️🐾
