At the conclusion of the JV football game tonight at North Edgecombe High School, some loud noises were heard after the game that were mistaken for gunshots. The stadium was cleared as a precaution. After an investigation by Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office, who was already providing security for the game, it was determined that there were actually no gunshots and there was no danger to those playing or in attendance. As always, safety and security remain our highest priority at schools.

This afternoon, we were honored by a special visit from Mr. Eddie Pettaway, who brought his annual delivery of beautiful mums to brighten our central office and schools.
Mr. Pettaway, a cherished former custodian who dedicated many years to serving our schools, continues to show his love and commitment to our community through this thoughtful gesture. His ongoing kindness not only enhances our work environment but also serves as a powerful reminder of the positive impact one person can make.
