Good evening, Carver families!
We had a fantastic first day of school here at G.W. Carver! Our Eagles spent the day learning and reviewing school and classroom expectations, getting to know their teachers and classmates, and settling into their new routines. We are so proud of how well they did today, and we know tomorrow will be even better!
As we continue to work toward smooth and efficient arrival and dismissal procedures, we want to share a few important reminders:
If you have multiple students at Carver, all of your children will dismiss from the location designated for your youngest child’s grade level.
Beginning next week, Pre-K students will dismiss at 3:00 p.m. If you have another child at Carver, please sign out your Pre-K student first and then proceed to the appropriate dismissal location for your other child.
The side Kindergarten loop is for Kindergarten and first-grade dismissal. If you have a Kindergarten student and an older child, your older child will dismiss from the side loop with your Kindergartner.
The front loop is for second- and third-grade dismissal.
The back parking lot, behind the buses, is for fourth- and fifth-grade dismissal.
We also know that bus transportation continues to be a concern for some of our families. As we receive new or updated bus route information, we will contact families as quickly as possible. Please reach out to our front office if you have questions regarding your child’s bus transportation.
Finally, please remember that morning drop-off begins at 7:30 a.m. For the safety of our Eagles, students may not be dropped off until a staff member is outside and ready to receive them.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support as we establish our routines for a successful school year. We appreciate our Carver families partnering with us as we continue Making Waves and Creating a Tide of Success!

¡Tuvimos un fantástico primer día de clases aquí en G.W. Carver! Nuestros Eagles pasaron el día aprendiendo y repasando las expectativas de la escuela y del salón de clases, conociendo a sus maestros y compañeros, y adaptándose a sus nuevas rutinas. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de lo bien que lo hicieron hoy y sabemos que mañana será aún mejor!
Mientras continuamos trabajando para que los procedimientos de llegada y salida sean seguros y eficientes, queremos compartir algunos recordatorios importantes:
Si tiene varios estudiantes en Carver, todos sus hijos saldrán por el lugar designado para el grado del hijo menor.
A partir de la próxima semana, los estudiantes de Pre-K saldrán a las 3:00 p. m. Si tiene otro hijo en Carver, primero deberá registrar la salida de su estudiante de Pre-K y luego dirigirse al lugar de salida correspondiente para su otro hijo.

🌊🦅 First Day Fun at G.W. Carver! ❤️💛
What an exciting first day of the 2026–2027 school year! Our Eagles filled the halls with smiles, laughter, hugs, and lots of excitement as we kicked off another amazing year at G.W. Carver! 📚✏️
From reconnecting with friends and meeting new teachers to settling into classrooms and starting new adventures, our Eagles are already Making Waves and Creating a Tide of Success! 🌊
Thank you to our incredible staff for making today so welcoming and special, and thank you to our families for trusting us with your Eagles. We can’t wait to see all that we accomplish together this year!

Good evening, Carver families! This is your principal, Ms. Palmer, with your weekly announcements for August 24th through August 28th.
We are excited to officially begin the 2026–2027 school year! This year, our theme is “Making Waves: Creating a Tide of Success.” As we build upon the momentum and successes of last year, we know that every lesson taught, every goal achieved, every act of kindness, and every partnership with our families creates a ripple. Together, those ripples become powerful waves that create a tide of success for all of our Eagles.
Tomorrow, Monday, August 24th, is the first day of school for students in grades 1 through 5. Our kindergarten students will participate in staggered enrollment Monday through Wednesday, with all kindergarten students attending together on Friday, August 28th. Our Pre-K students will begin their staggered enrollment on Monday, August 31st.
Students may be dropped off at their designated locations between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. must be accompanied by an adult to the front office to sign in.
During the beginning of the school year, parents and guardians are welcome to walk their children to class between 7:30 and 7:55 a.m. If you choose to walk your child in, please park in the front parking lot only and enter through the main office doors. Additional information about our arrival and dismissal procedures can be found on our page.
We also invite all of our Carver families to join us for our first PTO meeting on Tuesday, August 25th, at 5:00 p.m. in the media center. We would love to have you join us as we continue building a strong partnership between our school, families, and community.
Carver families, we cannot wait to welcome our Eagles back tomorrow! Our staff has worked incredibly hard to prepare for a wonderful first day and an exciting year of learning, growing, and achieving together.

¡Estamos muy emocionados de comenzar oficialmente el año escolar 2026–2027! Este año, nuestro lema es “Making Waves: Creating a Tide of Success” (Haciendo olas: Creando una marea de éxito). A medida que continuamos avanzando sobre el impulso y los logros del año pasado, sabemos que cada lección enseñada, cada meta alcanzada, cada acto de bondad y cada colaboración con nuestras familias crea un efecto positivo. Welcome back, G.W. Carver Eagles! This is your proud principal, Ms. Palmer, with our first phone call for the new school year.
We are excited to welcome all of our new and returning Eagles to our 2026–2027 Open House tomorrow from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM!
All visitors are asked to enter through the front doors and proceed through our Evolv security system.
Once inside, please visit our multipurpose room, where you can pick up a school map to help you locate your child’s homeroom teacher, receive bus transportation information, and purchase G.W. Carver spirit wear.
Our staff has been working hard to prepare their classrooms and our school for an amazing new year. They are excited and can’t wait to meet their students!
We look forward to seeing you at Open House and begin another wonderful school year together.
