You write the sentence. You read it back. You delete it.

Not because you don’t know your scope. Because you do. You can hear when a sentence promises something that was never yours to promise.

What nobody gave you is the sentence to write instead. Not in school, not at the bedside, and not in any coaching certification.

You weren’t short on caution. You were never taught the words.

Can health coaches use before-and-after photos? Even with the client’s consent, those images may create a clinical claim that crosses the coach’s scope of practice.

Two pictures side by side tell the viewer that the program caused the result. If the change involves a lab value, medication, diagnosis, or other clinical outcome, the photos can make a promise without the coach writing a single clinical verb.

Before posting, ask: What are these pictures telling a stranger she can expect?

A client mentions something concerning with five minutes left in the session.

The nurse doesn’t use those five minutes to determine what it might be. She pauses coaching, responds to the urgency, and helps the client reach the right level of care.

You aren’t deciding what it is. You’re deciding how fast.

It’s late, you’ve got a new client’s intake and a blank page, and the tool is right there. Can you just paste it in?

Whose information is that? It’s hers. Taking her name off doesn’t fix it; the story is still her. HIPAA usually doesn’t govern a solo coach, and that doesn’t make her information yours to use. It means the promise is yours to keep. Your agreement makes it, your license expects it, and the tool signed neither. You did.

That’s the line.

Your client asks for your session notes. A tool wrote them while you talked. And there’s a line you never said: assessed, advised. You listened. The tool upgraded your words into clinical ones.

If a tool wrote it, you still signed it. Delete the line, write what you actually said, then send it.
