The Roig Academy An IB K-8 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia. (ROIG).

The IB Primary Years Programme builds on our students' strengths in inquiry and big-picture thinking, paired with instruction grounded in the Science of Reading. At the Roig Academy, we empower, enrich, and celebrate students in a nurturing environment, where children feel safe to express themselves and Recognize their Ongoing Individual Growth. This confidence paired with our educators’ international teaching methodologies prompt our students’ readiness and willingness to learn, flourish and thrive as 21st century learners. Our approach is unique because it is deeply rooted in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading. This approach encompasses all forms of sensory learning including visual, auditory, interactive, and other unique teaching strategies that can be maximized in an intimate environment of no more than 10 students per class. By lovingly looking at every child under a magnifying glass, we adopt a full circle approach that creates a catalyst for learning. At the Roig Academy, each child’s unique emotional, social, academic, physical and developmental needs are being carefully observed and addressed. Learning about each individual’s distinctive facets allows us the opportunity to capitalize on their strengths and focus on areas of weakness.

They researched organs, mapped system interactions, and sculpted 3D organ models using clay. 🧠

Did you know the phrase “pull out all the stops” comes from a pipe organ? 🎵

Our student takes a look at how pipe organs use k***s called stops to control sound. Pushing them in keeps the music quiet, but pulling out all the stops lets air flow through every pipe for maximum volume!

That is why “pulling out all the stops“ means giving your total effort.

Play-Doh provides a hands-on opportunity to strengthen understanding in literacy, numeracy, and other areas of study.

Under the transdisciplinary theme “Who We Are,” our students will explore the central idea: Explore the world around us.
