ut the Instructor
Robert Frankford discovered his passion for singing in high school, where he was a two-time member of the PMEA All-State Chorus. Robert earned his BA in Music Education from Bloomsburg University, where he studied voice with Dr. Alan Baker. He was selected by the faculty in his freshmen year to perform in a recital for representatives from the National Association of Schools of Music. While studying at Bloomsburg, he was also a regularly selected performer for the Music Department’s honor recital, and was a consistent member of several ensembles such as the Concert Choir, the Husky Singers, and the Jazz Ensemble as a featured vocal soloist. In the summer of 2015, Robert toured Europe with the Bloomsburg University Jazz Ensemble and performed as a vocal soloist at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. In 2017, he began working as a voice and piano teacher in the town of Bloomsburg Pennsylvania. Some of his former voice students have since been cast in lead roles in their school musicals, have participated in PMEA chorus festivals up to the All-State Level, have been finalists in the First Columbia Teen Star Singing Competition, and have gone on to study music and theater at the collegiate level. Robert currently teaches Pre-K through 4th grade vocal and general music and directs the 4th grade chorus at Pine Grove Area Elementary School. He also recently graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with an MA in Music Education in August of 2024.
