Today marks a special day in my journey as a fiber artist. I have completed my first project from raw fiber to knitted fingerless gloves. I started with a
raw Shetland sheep fleece (Nicki Seeler),
washed it,
let it air dry,
combed it,
combined it with my own Angora rabbit fiber on a drum carder,
hand spun it on my Lendrum wheel,
plied it,
wound it into a yarn cake
and knitted fingerless gloves.
The process is amazing and I’m looking forward to working with more sheep fleeces, combining them with other fibers and creating incredibly soft yarns
