UAPB to Host 66th Annual Rural Life Conference Nov. 4-6

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will host its 66th Rural Life Conference Wednesday, Nov. 4 through Friday, November 6. The conference will be held at the Kenneth L. Johnson HPER Complex, 1542 L.A. “Prexy” Davis Drive, on the UAPB campus. It's TBT (known as Throwback Tuesday)! The Class of 2001 will celebrate their 25th Reunion during Homecoming 2026.

On Saturday, May 12, 2001, at 3:00 p.m., 344 graduates proudly crossed the stage at the Pine Bluff Convention Center to receive their degrees. This milestone marked the culmination of years of hard work and the beginning of new opportunities and promising futures.

Today, according to our records, 330 members of the Class of 1996 remain active, serving as a powerful legacy to the strength and impact of this graduating class. Their accomplishments and dedication continue to strengthen the tradition of Dear Mother and inspire future generations of graduates.

This class was labeled “Spirit Keepers”. A spirit keeper is someone who carries on the dream and goals of visionaries who came before him or her. By attending UAPB, you have taken on the task of being one of the many but treasured Spirit Keepers.

UAPB Appoints Kristi Smith Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has appointed Kristi L. Smith as vice chancellor for institutional advancement, effective Nov. 9, 2026.

Smith brings nearly two decades of experience in higher education, institutional advancement, alumni engagement, fundraising, public relations, and strategic relationship development. She currently serves as associate vice chancellor for alumni and development at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she provides strategic leadership for alumni engagement, annual giving, planned giving, and corporate and foundation relations.
