Friday was a special day at Friendship Aspire Academy Downtown! We had the pleasure of welcoming members of the UAPB Athletics Team as part of their Lions for Literacy Reading Initiative.

Our guests spent time reading with our scholars, encouraging a love for literacy, and showing them that strong readers can become strong leaders! 📖✨

And, of course, the excitement went to another level when our special guest, Legend the Lion, stopped by! 🦁 Our scholars absolutely loved the visit!

🧡🏆 A LITTLE LATE, BUT THIS CELEBRATION DESERVES A POST! 🏆🧡

On September 4th, we kicked off our FIRST Principal’s Party of the school year in true Downtown fashion, ALL ORANGE! 🧡🧡🧡

We celebrated our amazing Scholars of the Month and Staff of the Month for their hard work, positive choices, and commitment to excellence! 👏🏾🎉

Our scholars came decked out in orange, enjoyed the celebration, and ended the party with an orange snack of their choice! 🍊🧡

We may be a little late posting, but we are NEVER too late to celebrate excellence! 🏆

Congratulations again! We are so proud of you, and we can’t wait to see who earns their spot at our September Principal’s Party!

🌸🌱 Grandparents Day at Downtown! 🌱🌸

Today was all about love, memories, and GROWTH! 🧡

Our scholars spent a special afternoon with their grandparents potting flowers that they can continue to watch grow together. Each pot included a sweet reminder:

💐 “Thank you for helping me grow!” 💐

Just like these flowers need love, care, patience, and a little sunshine to grow, so do our scholars and we are so thankful for the grandparents who pour so much love and wisdom into them! 🥹🧡

Grandparents, we have one more assignment for you! 📸 As your flowers begin to grow and bloom, please send us pictures! We would LOVE to see how your flowers are growing right along with our scholars. 🌱➡️🌸

BIG BROTHER BRUNCH is coming to Pine Bluff! ❤️👑

The Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson County is proud to partner in support of this community event focused on mentorship, brotherhood, and pouring into the next generation of young men. Every day, our Club works to create a safe place where young people can belong, grow, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and have caring adults in their corner. As we continue growing, we especially want to reach more boys and young men throughout our community who could benefit from that experience.
