A couple of reminders:

7th Graders: Must be up to date on their vaccinations or have a waiver on file no later than 10/15

Please have your end-of-day pickup plans arranged with your student prior to school starting. In the event your end-of-day plans are changed, please call the office no later than 1:30 p.m. to ensure your student gets the message and to decrease the disturbances to instruction during class.

Dear Pathfinder Families,

As many of you know, severe weather moved through our area during today’s Back-to-School Bash, and we moved students and adults into our tornado shelter-in-place procedures.

Any time we have a real-world situation like this, it gives us an opportunity to look closely at our procedures and identify ways to improve. We learned things today that will help us strengthen how we prepare volunteers and communicate during severe weather events, particularly when our usual communication methods are limited and we are in an unstructured setting.

Our WEB leaders were absolute rock stars today. Under Ms. Dorosh’s leadership, they not only helped set up for a Bash that didn’t quite go as planned, but they also stepped up during an emergency and supported our volunteers and younger students. They showed the kind of leadership we hope to see from our students: calm, responsible, helpful, and ready to do what was needed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding this afternoon. We appreciate your trust and flexibility as we worked to respond to the weather and care for our students, staff, and volunteers.

Wow! What a week at Pathfinder! It was great to see everyone back and settling in. This week’s Weekly Compass has a few updates from our first week back, along with reminders about Picture Day, the Back-to-School Bash, the Washington, D.C. trip, and a few other things coming up. There’s a lot happening already, so take a quick look when you have a chance.

Pathfinder is starting to come back to life as students, families, and staff return to the building!

This week’s update includes reminders about 6th Grade WEB Orientation, building access August 18–21, and our first day of school on August 24.
