We have launched a Social Media Committee to maintain our Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts. We want to give everyone a chance to get involved so we are looking for a few FEGA members who aren’t on the board to join the committee. If you are interested in volunteering please reach out to us at [email protected]. We’d be so happy to have you join the conversation!

Antique Arms Show Schedule Updates

Join our new FEGA Master Engraver and Sergeant-at-Arms, Phil Bartolotta, for the “Alloying Gold” seminar on Thursday, January 21, 2027, from 8:00 to 9:00 PM.

Please note a few important change in the show schedule.

There will not be a President’s Social for 2027.

The banquet, awards ceremony and auction will be held on Friday, January 22nd rather than Saturday.

Originally the Antique Arms Show ran through Sunday, which allowed our members to proudly display their awards at their tables on the final day of the show. Now that the show closes at the end of the day on Saturday, we have reassessed the schedule and decided to move the banquet and the other festivities to Friday night.
This schedule change means our members can display their awards on Saturday, while also allowing members who need to leave Saturday afternoon or evening to attend the banquet Friday night. This will also make it easier on board members to split up the work that needs to be done over two days rather than one day. We will reassess the scheduling changes after the show to see if we need to make any adjustments for 2028.

Please reserve your tables and banquet tickets sooner rather than later! We look forward to seeing everyone in January!

Do you want to write an article for the magazine?

The Engraver magazine is a magazine for members written by members. The magazine is a great resource for all of our members and we would love to have your article to add to the long history of the guild magazine. The scammers are at it again! Several members got scam emails pretending to be the President asking for members to pay a vendor with PayPal, Zelle or Venmo. Sometimes they will ask for gift cards. Please be aware and check who the email is coming from. FEGA will NEVER ask you to help us pay vendors, do money transfers or ask for gift cards. Our board members know how to use all the services necessary to run the guild and we will NEVER request money for any reason.

As a reminder for our members, if you are an avid social media user FEGA has a page, Instagram page, and a TikTok account. Please tag us when you make your posts. This will allow those who are following our page to see what you’re working on thus gaining more traffic to your page and vice versa. We will be working diligently to increase our online and social media presence continuing with the idea of moving FEGA into the future.

An Update about the guild:

The Board of Directors now has quarterly virtual board meetings and a once a year in person board meeting. For the longest time we have worked through email discussing topics and voting on them. That worked for many many years however with the fast pace of society and life these days we decided that quarterly meetings are a must. With all of us living in different states virtual meetings are ideal for discussions and decision making. If there are topics you would like the board to discuss please feel free to reach out to us at any time! The sooner you bring your topic to the board the sooner we can discuss it and make proper changes if necessary. There's no need to wait until the January in person board meeting to bring something up to us anymore! Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns!

We have a number of new things to update everyone about! We will post about any updates, news or changes here and in our magazine. There will be several posts coming in the next few days so please check in occasionally.

We have been working hard over the past few months to update our processes and communication.

The first major change is that we have removed the 2 Vice President positions and changed to having only 1 Vice President. This helps establish a clear line of succession in the event that the President is unable to fulfill their duties.

We have also changed the titles of several of the board positions. Originally the founders named the positions after colors so they could flesh out what responsibilities each position does then they would reassess the title names. We have reassessed the title names and some changes have been made. Below are the updated name changes.

V.P. Blue is now Engraving Competitions Director-Tom Harvey
Director Blue is now Master's Program Director- Tim Wells
Director White is now Auction and Events Director- Chris Costa
Director Green is now Castings Director- Jim Agner
Director Red is now Seminar Director

All the other position titles have stayed the same:
President - Sam Cherry
Vice President - John Gunn (Emerging Artist Award Director)
Secretary - Chris Costa
Treasurer - Marianne Kelley
Sargent at arms - Phil Bartolotta
Cheif Operational Officer - Van Angle
Editor - Andrew Biggs
Historian - Scott Pilkington

We are currently looking for someone who would like to be involved with the guild and make a difference by volunteering for the Auction and Events Director position. If you or anyone you know would be interested in volunteering for this position please feel free to reach out to us. Chris Costa and Sam Cherry will help you get settled into the Director position. We would love to have you on the board!
