Busy week here at New Beginnings! 🐴

Friday we had the farrier out to hoof test Sundae.
Saturday Dr. Sara came to adjust Sundae.
Monday we headed to Anoka Equine with Sundae.
Tuesday Kodi came up lame.
Thursday Sundae blew her abscess.
Friday we had lessons and LH Equine Motion out.
Saturday LH Equine worked some more magic.
Sunday we finished Acuscope and everyone took a well-deserved nap.

Today we’re back at it with more lessons! 💙

Some weeks test you, but this crew keeps showing up and taking care of each other — horses and humans alike.

EHV-1 Update

We know recent EHV-1 reports in the area are concerning. We want to assure everyone that there are currently no cases at New Beginnings Arena, and the health of our horses is our top priority.

Equine herpesviruses are very common DNA viruses in horse populations worldwide. The two most significant are EHV-1, which causes respiratory disease, abortion, and neurologic disease; and EHV-4, which primarily causes respiratory disease and only occasionally causes abortion or neurologic disease. Fatal neonatal disease infrequently occurs as a result of in utero infection. Asymptomatic infection is common and facilitates transmission within groups of horses.

Important:
No one will be allowed on the property unless specifically approved.
Daily monitoring and strict biosecurity protocols are in place.
Our clinic is scheduled for Dec 12–14 – we’ll update you as soon as we know more.

New Beginnings Arena has some new mousers! Everyone meet Boo ( Tabby and white), Frankie ( orange and white) and Magic (Calico). All names pending considering we aren’t sure on the gender.
