“At the age of 7, I had to deal with a pain no young boy should have to deal with. My older brother took his own life in 2017. I’ve also dealt with 15 close deaths to my family in my 16 years of life.
During my time at Forward, Phillip Anthony Mitchell spoke about the guilt he had carried over a loved one’s su***de. Hearing that, God took that burden off my back. Having leaders pray with me over addictions numerous times sent me home as a new child.
I’ve also always slacked on worship, but seeing 14,000 people my age with their hands raised made me much bolder in my worship and in giving God the glory He deserves.
It’s okay to not be okay. Find someone and have that conversation.
And if you’re feeling conviction, never shut that door. I wouldn’t have confessed my sins if I had, and I would have missed encountering the Holy Spirit during my week.
