This past weekend, we had the chance to visit Burgess Falls State Park here in Tennessee, and it did not disappoint. Nestled along the Falling Water River, Burgess Falls is known for its series of breathtaking waterfalls that cascade through deep limestone gorges—some of the most scenic views our state has to offer.
We took a short hike along the trail and made our way to each of the waterfalls. Along the path, it was great to see the forest waking up for spring. We spotted native plants like mayapple and trilliums beginning to emerge, reminding us just how rich and diverse these woodland ecosystems are.
Moments like these are a good reminder of why we’re so passionate about preserving and sustainably harvesting the plants we work with every day.
What’s your favorite spring plant or trail you look forward to every year? 🌱 Drop it in the comments—we’d love to hear and maybe even check it out!

We were honored to host a great meeting this week here at Boring Ginseng Roots and Herbs, along with several site visits out in the field.
It was a pleasure welcoming visitors from a wide range of places—spanning from Virginia to California, and even as far as South Africa. Bringing together such diverse perspectives and shared passion for sustainable harvesting and forest farming made for meaningful conversations and valuable connections.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate, learn from one another, and continue growing this important work. Looking forward to what’s ahead!

Glad we were able to get out at Bucks Creek Farm this weekend and take a few pictures before the snow came!

We were proud to donate rootstock to help support this propagation project and get more native medicinal plants back into the forest where they belong. Projects like this help protect and expand important Appalachian botanicals for future generations.
Forest farming, conservation, and propagation are all part of keeping these plants thriving. We’re honored to play a small role in helping them grow.
If you believe in protecting native medicinal plants and supporting sustainable forest farming, please LIKE and SHARE this post so more people see the work being done by Jeanine and Katie.
