Dear Parents,
EOG testing is coming up, and we would love your help! 😊 We are looking for volunteers to serve as proctors on May 22, May 27, and May 29. Proctors help ensure a smooth and fair testing environment for students.

If you’re available, please consider signing up! There are just two simple requirements:
**Be approved through the WCPS verified volunteer website
**Attend one short training session prior to testing

We are in great need of parent/guardian/community volunteers to sign up as a proctor for the End-of-Grade (EOG) testing sessions at Northwest Elementary during the testing window of May 22nd - June 4th. The end of the 2023-2024 school year is here! We know that Northwest is facing some big changes with both students and staff affected by the redistricting plan, and we want to be sure that NWE PTA will be in good hands next year!

All four board positions are coming open -- President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary -- along with two member-at-large positions.

We need YOU to submit some nominations! Being a PTA officer is a fantastic way to connect more deeply with your school and bring the community and school together. Time commitment can be based on your own obligations.

The rain is really out to get Northwest this school year isn't it?

While our hard-working teachers figure out how to salvage Field Day, let's make the end of Teacher Appreciation Week a grand finale! We have seen some great handmade cards being sent in this week and the notes we are printing off are fantastic! The ones addressed to previous teachers are heartwarming. The ones from the students and parents are just so kind and thoughtful!

While you are out enjoying Field Day, be sure to thank a teacher or two in person!

It's the last day to submit a card through our Google form; it will close st 6pm tonight. Thank you for all your support this week -- through us and directly to your teachers.

Tuesdays are for cookies and cards! Keeping teacher appreciation going by dropping off some treats and another stack of notes from all of you!

It's fitting that the first day of Teacher Appreciation Week was also the special day for Abel and Abigail to be PE Coaches for the Day! Coach Zietlow and Coach Cox exemplify going above and beyond for our students, just like so many of their colleagues. Thank you Coaches Zietlow and Cox and congratulations Coaches Moreno and Fraim!
