Good afternoon Panther Family! As you may or may not be aware, one of our neighboring districts sadly lost a student and classmate earlier this week. In remembering and honoring the life of Carissa, a student at Johnson County Middle School, their school system will be wearing pink on Monday, August 17th. In support of her family, the students, faculty, staff and families of their school district, we will have Pink Day across Pikeville Independent Schools on Monday as well. We encourage our students, staff, families and community to join us in wearing your pink in memory of Carissa.
We continue to be in prayer for her family, friends, classmates, educators, and all others who hurt as a result of such a great loss. We hope you have a safe and blessed evening!

What a GREAT couple of days welcoming our students back to PHS!
It didn't take long for our Panthers to get right back into the swing of things! From the classroom to the hallways and beyond, our students rolled up their sleeves, got to work, and hit the ground running!
A HUGE thank you to our incredible faculty and staff for the countless hours, preparation, and dedication that went into making these first days so successful. Your hard work helped create the kind of welcoming, positive start our students deserve!
Special shoutout to Chris Bartley/New Beginnings, Senior parents, families, City Police & Fire, and community partners for making our back to school as smooth, welcoming and exciting as possible!
Here's to an amazing year ahead at Pikeville High School!
Let's make it a great one, Panthers! πΎ

π PIKEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR TAYLOR MOORE TO REPRESENT KENTUCKY AT MISS TEEN USA π
Pikeville High School is proud to recognize senior Taylor Moore as she prepares to represent Kentucky at Miss Teen USA, a prestigious national competition celebrating young women who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, service, and character.
If crowned Miss Teen USA, Taylor would serve as a national ambassador and use her title to promote leadership, community service, and causes close to her heart. She would also have the incredible opportunity to represent the USA internationally in Cambodia this November at the Miss Teen Universe competition! πΊπΈπ
Taylor is an honor student, Pikeville High School varsity cheerleader, employee at New Day Nutrition, and a member of New Beginnings Church. While balancing school, cheer, work, and church, she has also dedicated countless hours to serving her community.
