PICTURE DAY IS TOMORROW!

A quick reminder that Piketon Jr./Sr. High School Picture Day is tomorrow, Friday, August 21!

Here are a few things to remember:

👕 Please do not wear green.
JostensPIX uses a green screen that allows families to choose different backgrounds when ordering. Green clothing may disappear into the background.

📷 All students will have their picture taken.
Pictures will be used for student IDs, the 2026–2027 yearbook, and school records. There is no need to purchase a photo package in order to have your picture taken. Senior Yearbook pictures will be taken at graduation.

🛒 No advance purchase is necessary.
Approximately one week after Picture Day, families will be able to preview, customize, and order photos online. Orders are shipped directly to your home.

🎓 CCP+ Students
CCP+ students who are not normally in the building may come to Piketon Jr./Sr. High School at **8:00 a.m. tomorrow, August 21**, to have their picture taken. They may also come at **8:00 a.m. on Retake Day, September 21**, if needed.

🚌 CTC Students
We are currently working with the Career & Technical Center regarding school pictures. If our students are unable to have their pictures taken at the CTC, we will make arrangements for them to remain at Piketon Jr./Sr. High School on **September 21** to have their pictures taken. We will share additional information with those students as soon as those arrangements are finalized.

🔄 Retake Day: Monday, September 21

💻 Viewing & Ordering Photos
Photos should be available approximately one week after Picture Day.

Piketon Jr./Sr. High School Event Code: FE375426

Thank you to our students, families, and community for your patience and understanding during today’s arrival and dismissal.

With the opening of the new middle school and the resulting changes to traffic patterns around our campus, we experienced a significant amount of congestion and delays. We recognize the frustration and inconvenience this caused and for that we apologize.

Today gave us an important first look at how traffic moves with both schools in operation. We will continue working together to identify adjustments that can help improve the flow of traffic and make arrival and dismissal safer and more efficient in the days ahead.

As with any major transition, we know it may take a little time for all of us to settle into these new routines. We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and grace as we work through this together.

Thank you for helping us get the school year underway and for continuing to look out for one another.

From Mrs. K. Lamerson, Director of Curriculum, Assessment, & Transportation:

School times and busing are going to look a little different this year. Buses will all go to PJH/HS in the mornings, then 5 buses will transport students to Jasper and 5 buses will transport students to PMS. Those same buses will bring the students back to PJH/HS in the afternoon to get on their buses for home. There will be paper copies of routes at Open House and it is also on our website so you know exactly what buses your child will be riding. The drivers and I have worked hard to make this as seamless and safe as possible but please bear with us! Safety is always our priority as you already know. Thank you for your patience and if you have any questions please reach out to me. 740-289-2254 Ext. 11038 🩷⚡️🚌

Redstreak Families...We're Almost There!

With the first day of school less than a week away, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say how excited I am to begin the year with you.

For those I haven't had the opportunity to meet yet, my name is Bruce Kalb and I am honored to serve as the new principal of Piketon High School.

I have spent much of this summer getting to know our school, our staff and this community while preparing for the year ahead. The closer we get to Wednesday, the more excited I am to finally have our students back in the building.

As we begin this year together, one thing I hope our families will quickly learn about me is that I value communication. If you have a question, please ask. If you have a concern, please reach out. If there is something we need to know to better support your child, please tell us. I believe schools are at their best when families and educators work together.

There will be plenty more to share in the days and weeks ahead, but today I simply wanted to say welcome back and to let you know how grateful I am for the opportunity to serve your children and this community.

Enjoy the final few days of summer. We’ll be ready when our Redstreaks walk through the doors Wednesday morning.
