Let me tell you about Mayaan and Maggie. These two are not only wonderful singers who front our innagural House Band. They are the greatest supporters of the culture at the school. That's why they are the co-students of the month for us for August. Among the first to ask who they can help with loading in and loading out gear, enthusiastically supporting the other student bands front and center of the stage, carrying each other's load when one has to miss rehearsal or a show, and having such great attitudes day in and day out. Proud of these kids. Let's celebrate them!

We have some changes to staff to announce! Demi Brown, our rock star Studio Coordinator who started working for us at our Grand Opening last year has been promoted to Assistant General Manager. We are thrilled to have her move into this role and be the point person for day to day needs at the school.

Along with this move, Bob Jachens is moving from AGM to become our Director of New Student Engagement and Retention, along with being a full-time instructor. Bob is employee #1 at the school, and is the cultural touchstone. All new students will have him as their point person for any questions related to the student and parent experience. "If there's a problem, yo, he'll solve, check out the hook while the DJ revolves it." 😜

Please welcome our newest crew member, Studio Coordinator Kayla Soumare! Kayla is a 2024 graduate of Owings Mills High School and brings a wealth of customer service, organization, and teamwork experience to School of Rock Pikesville. She honed her ability to create exceptional guest experiences and build customer loyalty in fast-paced environments, most recently serving as a Specialty MAC Artist and Prestige Beauty Advisor at Ulta Beauty. Known for her dependability, leadership, and strong time management skills, Kayla is passionate about ensuring every student and family has a welcoming, organized, and rockin' experience from the moment they walk through the studio doors. Her personal background in music includes studying piano and voice. When not working, Kayla can be found reconnecting with nature.
