We are incredibly proud of our FBLA members! Out of 14 competitors, 8 placed at the State Leadership Competition and have earned the opportunity to compete at Nationals in San Antonio, TX in June.

Long story short… I decided to take a class through the Alabama State Department of Education, and I’ve been building this project since September.

We’re calling it The Patriot Road to Revenue.

My students, working in groups, will develop a mobile business that meets the needs of the Pike Road community and is financially sustainable. They are responsible for collecting data, signing a group contract, completing an 11-page business plan, creating their brand (name, colors, and logo), developing products or services based on community needs, and building a prototype.

They’ll be working on this project for the next 7 weeks—and we officially kicked it off today! We had the honor of hosting Mayor Gordon Stone as our guest speaker.

I am so excited to see what our Entrepreneurship students create! 💙

The hallway near my classroom is looking pretty unique and creative right now thanks to my Entrepreneurship students! They just finished their Life-Size Customer Target Market project!
Students randomly drew a product and then had to design their ideal customer for that product. To do this, they had to think like real marketers and identify their customer using the four types of market segmentation:
• Demographic
• Geographic
• Psychographic
• Behavioral
They turned their research into life-size customer profiles to help visualize exactly who their product is meant for.
Understanding your customer is one of the most important parts of building a successful business.

Our Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members are selling sweatshirts and quarter-zips to help raise funds for our upcoming State Leadership Conference! This event gives our students the chance to compete, network, and put their classroom learning to the test. All proceeds will help support conference registration and travel expenses. Last week, my Marketing students learned about Business Ethics and Social Responsibility. We used Ben and Jerry’s philosophy. Each group or individual had to choose a Charity that resonated with them, rename an ice cream flavor to symbolize their charity, create a new slogan, and decorate a pint. I want to select a winner from each period. Please help me, my voting on your favorite Purpose In The Pint! ❤️

Yesterday, some of our FBLA officers had the incredible opportunity to participate in a leadership training at Lanark. Throughout the day, they engaged in team-building activities that challenged their critical thinking and leadership abilities, while also gaining a deeper understanding of each other's unique personalities and strengths.

We are excited to see what the future holds for Pike Road High School FBLA!

A special thank you to our amazing Career Coach, Emily Reiss, for organizing and leading this impactful event. It was truly an inspiring day of growth and connection!

We had our CTE Celebration last week! All of Pike Road CTSOs were recognized for their achievements! I sure love these girls, and I will miss the seniors next year! ❤️
