🚨 Let's Talk About School Meals! 🍎🥪

One of the biggest topics we've heard from families recently is school meal charges. We know returning to paid meals has been an adjustment, and we want to do everything we can to help make the process as smooth as possible.

Here are a few important reminders:

✅ 1. Complete a Free & Reduced Lunch Application – Even if you don't think you'll qualify, we strongly encourage every family to apply. You may be surprised! Here is the online application link: https://frapps.horizonsolana.com/SEVC01

✅ 2. Check Your Application Status – Some families who applied have been denied or placed on Reduced status. If you haven't checked your status, your child could already be accumulating meal charges. If you are unaware of your current status, you can reach out to our cafeteria manager, Mrs. Angel McCarter.

✅ 3. Weekly Charge Notices – Once enrollment settles, we'll begin sending home weekly lunch balance letters with students who have outstanding meal charges.

✅ 4. Need a Paper Application? – If you're unable to complete the online application, we have pink paper applications available in the school office.

✅ 5. We're Here to Help! – If you have trouble accessing the website, have questions about the application, or need a paper copy, please don't hesitate to call the school or send a ParentSquare message to Dr. Taylor Valentine or Dr. Kari Garrison. We're happy to help!

Way to go, PFI parents & families!

There are still a handful of parents who have not completed registration. For multiple reasons, safety being the most important, we need all registration completed by this Friday, August 14th.

We will have extra staff on hand tomorrow, August 11th, to assist you! The process is much easier on a computer than it is on a phone so please swing by for assistance.

8:00-1:30 is the ideal time.

Our School Resource Officers are here for you—not just to keep you safe, but to listen, support, and help whenever you need us. If you have a concern, a problem, or simply need someone to talk to, please know that our SROs are available to help at all times. You are never alone, and you can always reach out to us.

🎉 Meet Your 2026–2027 PFI Pledge Leaders! 🎉

Each year, Pigeon Forge Intermediate selects two outstanding sixth-grade students to serve as our PFI Pledge Leaders. This is one of the highest honors a student can receive at our school.

These students aren't chosen by chance. Over the past two years, we've watched their character, leadership, work ethic, kindness, and the way they represent PFI every single day. They have consistently demonstrated what it means to be a Tiger, and we couldn't be more excited for them!

This year, Zachariah Lopez and Emma Ownby have been selected to serve as our Pledge Leaders!

Throughout the school year, they will:
🐾 Lead the Pledge of Allegiance each morning
📣 Help with our daily announcements
🏫 Serve as office helpers
🧡 Welcome visitors and represent PFI with pride
