Our symphonic band tried out a new game in class! Head, Shoulders, Knees, and CUP!! The goal is to be the first person to sn**ch the cup when the announcer (Me. Pohland) says CUP! They all had so much fun and it is a great way to bond with each other and have fun other than playing.

🎷✨ Senior Spotlight: Alexis! ✨🎷

Meet Alexis, our talented Tenor Saxophone player and one of our Band Social Media Managers! Alexis has been a member of Symphonic Band since 10th grade and has made so many memories along the way. 💕

After graduation, Alexis plans to finish her Associate of Arts Degree, finish her Dental Assistant degree, and continue on to become a Dental Hygienist—all through CLC’s Brainerd campus! 🦷📚

Her favorite part of band? The community built around a shared goal of making great music and becoming the best musicians we can be. Alexis is incredibly grateful for the band directors who have guided her not only as a musician, but as a person. ❤️

📺 Favorite childhood show : Wonder Pets!
🍿 Comfort show: The Rookie
💬 Advice to her younger self: “ Don’t spend your time trying to prove your worth to people who only appreciate you when you fit their expectations. Growing up means realizing that not every friendship is meant to last forever. Some people teach you what you deserve, while others teach you what you should never settle for. Hold onto the people who appreciate you for who you are, challenge you to grow in healthy ways, give you the freedom to become the person you’re meant to be, and remind you that being yourself is more than enough.”

😂 Funniest band memory: At MMEA, the band stayed at Great Wolf Lodge, where Alexis and Parker faced off in ski ball. Parker even climbed up the ski ball machine to throw the balls into the holes… and Alexis still won.

We’re so proud of you, Alexis! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish next! 🎓🎷🎀
