“The Young Artist Program at Rushmore Music Festival, takes place in the heart of the Black Hills in Rapid City, South Dakota. With a strong focus that combines individual technical mastery and artistic growth rooted in communication, the Festival fosters a challenging, immersive musical environment. Over the course of 3 or 6 weeks, students will have multiple solo, chamber, and Conductorless Chamber Orchestra performance opportunities on campus and throughout the community. Studio classes, distinguished guest artist masterclasses, and competitions provide students with high and low-stress environments to build and refine their performance skills.”

Once again, we were thrilled to play the national anthem at the Oahe Zap Baseball game! Thanks for welcoming us to Hyde Stadium each season! Your team, staff and fans always make us feel welcome on the field!

We are incredibly grateful to longtime supporter Becky Burke for her recent donation of a violin and double bass to our program!
Both of Becky’s children are orchestra alumni and throughout the years, she has consistently given back to The Pierre Youth Orchestra as well as countless other fine arts endeavors or nonprofit organizations throughout our community. Her generosity makes a tremendous difference!
These instruments will be placed directly into the hands of students in need, giving them the opportunity to learn, grow and experience the joy of making music!
Our mission continues because of the dedicated people who believe in the importance of music education and creating opportunities for others in our area!
