Last week our members donated over 100 activity bags to Avera St. Mary’s Hospital. These bags can be used by children in the emergency department if they are a patient or if their family member is a patient.

This was our last event of the semester, but we are looking forward to more events in the fall! Thank you to everyone in the community for all your support!

This week our members put activity bags together for patients in the ER at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital. We hope to finish these and donate them by the end of the month.

Thank you to our tour guide Joe Meligan who serves as a flight paramedic; we appreciate him teaching us about the roles of the flight crew!

Last week some of our members had the privilege to participate in the Feeding South Dakota Empty Bowls fundraiser. These bowls are a symbol of all the bowls left to fill to ensure no one goes hungry. The bowls will be given away at the Empty Bowls event tonight, February 12.

Last year some of our SNA members got a chance to volunteer at Feeding South Dakota. We are excited to support their Empty Bowls fundraiser later this week!

At our upcoming SNA meeting, we will also be discussing the State SNA Convention! I know a few are interested in going so check it out if you’re interested!

Last week, our members took the last 4 names off the angel tree and split up to purchase gifts on their lists. We were able to get everything they asked for, thanks to the support of our community and donors! Hope everyone has a happy and blessed holiday and new year!

Thank you so much to everyone who supported our fundraiser event and bought raffle tickets.

The winners of our baskets are Travis Krogman who won the basket valued at $100, Leslee McClelland who won the basket valued at $150, and our grand prize winner is Renelle Uthe who won the basket valued at $250!

Winners, we will be getting your baskets to you next week. With the money we raised we are going to complete a community event and buy gifts for kids on the angel tree. Thank you again for supporting our event and thank you to the local businesses around town for donating to our baskets!

We had our first official SNA sponsored event today. Our officers, along with our members, organized a nursing panel to come speak to us regarding their specialized roles in nursing. We were so grateful to have Jen Bertram and Jennifer Mercer, both RNs at Avera, join us to share their nursing role in Home Health and Hospice care. They were so informative and gave us great insight with their experiences and what lead them to be where they are today. Thank you so much Jen and Jen! It was an honor to have you!
