Hello Buchanan Families!

This is Jen Nedrebo, Buchanan Principal, writing to remind you of our Check-In and Picture Day that will be held on Monday, August 10, from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM at Buchanan Elementary. The early morning tends to be the busiest time, so if you want to avoid long lines, please take that into consideration when planning your arrival.

This is also an opportunity to fill out Free/Reduced Lunch applications, put money on lunch accounts, purchase milk tickets and activity tickets. Cash or checks only.

Mark your calendar for Monday, August 17th when teachers and class lists will be posted at the school. Our Buchanan Open House will also be that evening, August 17th, from 5:00-6:00 PM. Please bring labeled school supplies that evening.

The first day of school will be here before you know it! If your child will be riding with River Cities Public Transit this school year, now is the time to register.

📅 Want your child to ride during the first week of school?
Please complete registration by August 12 to ensure we have time to finalize routes and schedules.

📌 All students must register, even if they will begin riding later in the school year.

Our goal is to provide safe, reliable transportation that helps our youth get where they need to be—whether it's school, after-school programs, or other destinations.

Online Student Registration and Activity Registration is open for parents and guardians of students currently enrolled in the Pierre School District, as well as those wishing to enroll their children in the district for the upcoming school year.
