🍂🎶 It’s a BOOtiful time to make music! 🎶🍂
This week, our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade music students welcomed fall with singing, dancing, movement and plenty of hands-on music making! 🍎🍁
🎵 Kindergarten
Our kindergarteners danced and sang along with “Rig-a-Jig-Jig” and explored the four voices: speaking, whispering, shouting and singing. Songs, chants and puppets helped make learning these musical voices fun!
🎵 1st Grade
First graders learned the folk song favorite “She’ll Be Coming ’Round the Mountain” and added movement to “Leaf Man” a book by Lois Ehlert. They listened carefully for their musical parts and filled the air with colorful leaves when it was their turn! 🍂
🎵 2nd Grade
Second graders sang fall favorites like “Apple on a Stick” and “Skin and Bones” while strengthening their rhythm skills with wood blocks, triangles and claves. 🥁
Music class is so much more than singing songs. Our students are developing listening skills, rhythm, coordination, creativity, musical vocabulary and the confidence to participate and create together. And yes… we have a LOT of fun doing it! ❤️🎶
