Sometimes you don’t know what the must-haves for preschool and daycare are until you actually experience them 💙

Ready, set, scoot! 🛴✨
Today, our kids are rolling to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital! Every lap they take helps St. Jude's life-saving mission so that families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. Please consider making a donation to cheer on our racers and help bring hope and healing to these courageous families!

Here at The Goddard School of Pickerington, we had so much fun celebrating World News Day! From Newspaper collages, word searches, and reporting on our community, we learned so much about journalism!

Special thanks to Photojournalist, Andy Spear for coming in to talk to our Kindergarteners about his experiences as a photojournalist! Andy has been published in The New York Times, The Rolling Stones, The Washington Post, as well as many other publications! Currently, he works as an instructor of Visual Communications at Ohio University. It was such an honor getting to learn from him. 🗞️📸

Every Goddard class has their own schedule, but here’s a peek of how a day can look:

9am: Morning meeting ☀️
Songs, check-ins and questions spark curiosity and connection.

11am: Outdoor Learning & Play 🍃
Climb, dig, build and explore the natural world.

12pm: Lunch! 🍎
Time to refuel and connect.

3pm: Learning Centers 🎨
Choice-driven play builds independence and imagination.

The thing about a Goddard preschooler is they’re going to be curious. Keep the questions coming 👏

Personally, we’d hire them as videographers 📹

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
