We are partnering with Children’s Hunger Alliance as apart of our preschool enrichment program. They have been learning about healthy eating habits and trying new foods. Today they tried popcorn and healthy popsicles made from fruits and vegetables.
Founded in 1970, Children’s Hunger Alliance is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger.
“We partner with organizations throughout Ohio to provide nutritious meals to at-risk children who need them most. We help day care providers, day care centers, local school districts and afterschool and summer programs provide balanced, healthy meals to children in their care. Our team of educators also deliver nutrition education and lead children in physical activities to provide a balanced approach to childhood health.” - www.ChildrensHungerAlliance.org
Did you know? Approximately 529,000 children across Ohio live in food-insecure households.
That means 1 in 5 children are unsure of where their next meal is coming from.
At It Takes A Village Early Education Center we provide breakfast, lunch and snack. We strive to make every meal nutritious and offer fresh fruits and vegetables to our students. For more information please visit our website or give us a call.
