CONGRATULATIONS to your 2026-2027 SDPC District Teacher of the Year: Pickens High School’s own Señora Gamboa! 🥳 We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving for this honor. She is truly one of a kind and makes every day at PHS ☀️BRIGHTER☀️ because of who she is and how much she cares for her students and colleagues. We are blessed to have her and so thankful for her dedication and passion for teaching! 💙

We were excited to welcome another visit from the SDPC Future Leaders Cohort to G2i!

Deborah Anderson, Instructional Coach at Gettys Middle School, and Aaron Bishop, Math Teacher at Pickens High School, toured G2i and learned more about the opportunities that will soon be available to students across our district.

They were joined by Josh Young, SDPC Associate Superintendent of Administration, who helped provide additional insight into the work taking shape at G2i from a district prospective.

We appreciate Deborah and Aaron taking the time to visit, ask questions, and learn more about the work underway at G2i. We are excited to see future leaders like them investing in the future of our students and schools.

We were excited to welcome two outstanding educators to G2i today as part of the SDPC Future Leaders Academy!

Fran Carden, Reading Coach at McKissick Academy of Science and Technology, and Dr. Ashley Butler, Instructional Coach at Pickens High School, spent time touring G2i and learning more about the exciting opportunities ahead for our students.

Joining them were Shannon Sharkey, SDPC Associate Superintendent of Academic Services, and Travis Smith, SDPC Executive Director of Operations.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share the vision for G2i with leaders from across our district. We’re excited to see how Fran and Ashley will continue growing as leaders and making an impact on students, colleagues, and schools across SDPC!
