This is what the first 20 minutes of tomorrow's Sumo training will be.
It's our warm-up segment. A combination of isometrics, statics, dynamics, and cardio. It's designed to loosen, activate, and warm all the muscles and joints you will use during Sumo ... from head to toe.
At the end you should feel a flush in your skin, your wind should be up, and a light glisten on the skin. No pain or dizziness.
This sequence incorporates balance, flexibility, and strength. The three physical legs of the Sumo stool. Most of these exercises incorporate multiple elements because in Sumo you don't move your body in muscle isolation, you move as a whole in multiple planes. The goal here is not build but to activate and be ready for the heavier stuff that is coming.
This sequence also allows the coach to observe people's limitations, injuries, and capabilities for that day. This allows the coach to adjust the further training for each person if needed.
Time: 11h15-12h45
