Desert View Elementary

Desert View Elementary Preschool - 6th grade elementary school. Desert View affords students a rich curriculum aligned to Arizona College and Career Ready Standards.

Desert View Elementary School, in the Washington Elementary School District, serves approximately 500 prekindergarten through sixth grade children. Our school boundaries extend north to parts of Hatcher Avenue all the way south to Northern Avenue, and from 16th Street on the east to points on Central Avenue on the west. Our school vision is: Every teacher, engaging every child, every day. We are

committed to our Continuous Improvement Plan, which focuses on instructional practices. Staff meets to plan and use data to make decisions to best meet the needs of all students every day. Staff works together to implement the Response to Intervention (RTI) model. The structure of RTI is designed to provide Desert View students with added academic support. Teachers focus on increased student engagement and academic growth for all. Desert View School implements the PBIS School-wide discipline program. All students follow the rule, “be safe, be respectful, be responsible.”

Attention, families! We’re excited to announce a new opportunity for our youngest learners! Washington Elementary School District (WESD), in partnership with A Stepping Stone Foundation, is excited to offer a free, full-day preschool program for children ages 3–5!

Classes begin Monday, October 19, 2026, and will be held Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. (Early release Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.).

✨For your child:
• Free, full-day preschool
• Free breakfast and lunch
• High-quality early learning

💙For parents and grandparents:
• No income requirement to enroll
• Weekly adult education classes
• Free childcare provided during adult education classes

📍The program will be offered at our school, 8621 N. 3rd Street, an A+ School of Excellence™.
