Saw some stunning stone slabs and tile yesterday at Architectural Surfaces with Joe Schreur and learned a lot about Quartzite that I did not know previously!

Yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to tour TGen’s (Translational Genomics Research Institute) headquarters in downtown Phoenix, situated on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus, a key element of Arizona's statewide bioscience initiative with IFMA and Kristen Kaus (reach out to her to schedule your tour). The science geek in me was in awe.

From cutting-edge research to real-world medical applications, the work being done at TGen is truly vital in the fight against cancer and other genetic diseases. I even got to sit at the head of the largest conference table I’ve ever seen IRL and connect with some truly inspiring people.

Major kudos to the facilities team — the complexity and precision it takes to manage a space like this, while ensuring safety for such specialized lab work, is no small feat.

This visit also came at the perfect time to highlight my fundraising efforts for LLS / Blood Cancer United. If you’re able to donate or share, I’d be so grateful for your support.

This tour — and the conversations that came with it (read the stats on the pics) — were a powerful reminder that if we “Keep the Faith” organizations like TGen and the relentless dedication of scientists around the world, we will find a cure for cancer one day.

My son recently needed some imaging, and it just so happened to be at HonorHealth’s newest 100,000 sf medical campus - Stadium Creek in Peoria, Arizona. It was the perfect opportunity to see the finished space in use and snap a few photos. While I was provided HonorHealth’s standard color palette as the basis for design, I was given designer license to select the finishes. The large-format tile on the floors and walls adds an upscale, refined feel. I chose Ricochet® wallcovering for its durability and resimercial feel, and the acoustic baffles were custom printed to match the wood-look laminate. Although the slat wall and green wall were VE’d out of the final build, I couldn’t help but bring them back with a little Photoshop magic.

Feeling incredibly proud to open the latest Inpro catalog and see the most rewarding project of my career featured not once, but three times.

With Sue Urban (Studio4Design) and Maret Webb (Vehr/Webb Studio Architects).

Thanks

Green was everywhere at this year’s HDExpo. Definitely the prominent color of choice, often accented with pinks and reds – which makes perfect sense, because that is its complimentary color.

The classic Barrel Chair is having a moment! This iconic chair shape was seen all over at this year’s HDExpo. The chair was shown showcased in many renditions and sometimes with the added twist of the ever-popular upgrade, a swivel.

We had a blast at the Neon Museum Disco Glitter Ball in Las Vegas this week. It brought back so many memories of the signs that I loved as a child when we would drive up and down the strip. Signage design is a wonderful form of art and I'm so pleased these pieces have been saved.

Had an great time swinging clubs and hitting balls at for the Arizona Diaper Bank fundraiser yesterday! Not only was it a fun morning with amazing colleagues, great silent auction and raffle items, but I also learned about the critical need for diapers in our community. Such a unique and worthwhile cause—glad to support families in need! Thank you for the invite Kim Valentino and Elontec.
