Together we are Angelman Strong! Angelman syndrome (AS) is a neuro-genetic disorder that occurs in one in 15,000 live births.

Angelman Strong celebrates one of the biggest triumphs of the ASF — the incredible AS community YOU have built over 25 years of bringing the community together to fundraise at the ASF Walks. AS is often misdiagnosed as cerebral palsy or autism. Characteristics of the disorder include developmental delay, lack of speech, seizures, and walking and balance disorders. Individuals with Angelman Syndrome will require life-long care. The Angelman Syndrome Foundation's mission is to advance the awareness and treatment of Angelman Syndrome through education and information, research, and support for individuals with Angelman Syndrome, their families and other concerned parties. We exist to give all of them a reason to smile, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure. (http://www.angelman.org)

The Angelman Syndrome Foundation National Walk has been an essential source of funding for the Angelman Syndrome Foundation since its start in 1999. What began as a single volunteer walk site, now includes sites across the country and is recognized as the top fundraising event for the organization. This is the official page for the Tempe, Arizona walk site. Updates and information on this page will be specific to the Tempe, Arizona walk site. It will not always apply to all walk sites.
