Our Fifth grade scholars enjoyed a show at the Herberger theater today!
Congratulations to our 1st place, best of school and best of show winners at the Cartwright Young Artist Exhibit.
Let's Taco bout how fun it is to work at Long! Our first grade team served up some sweet treats for our staff to munch on while winding down at the end of our day. We all appreciated the morale boost as we start our last month of the school year. Thanks first grade 🧡
Lots of our Longhorn artists have artwork displayed at the Cartwright training center this week for the Cartwright Young Artist Exhibit. Come by Monday-Thursday 4-6pm to see all wonderful work on display!
This week our 6th graders explored the Zero Waste Management Transfer Center and then wrote business letters to Congressman Ruben Gallego about zero waste.
Our fifth graders took field trips to the airport to learn about all the jobs and careers that are offered there. They had so much fun watching the planes take off and land, walking through the terminals and taking rides on the sky train. Thanks for always being such a great host to our learners, Skyharbor 🛫 ❤️

Our families are enjoying Ratatouille tonight at our movie night. We love seeing our past, present, and future students come together. Thank you to our student council for selling treats and to all the family and staff that joined our special night!
Our 42nd annual Turkey Bowl! We're thankful for our amazing community!
Coming up this Tuesday, we have our 42nd Turkey Bowl. We can't wait to see all our families come cheer for our 6th grade football players and enjoy the family fun.
This week we had early Thanksgiving lunch. We're thankful for all of our community and the time we get to spend with them!
Today, our choir students had the wonderful opportunity to play instruments from all around the world at the Musical Instrument Museum!

Mrs. Lear has been helping our artist do many cool things during Art time! Enjoy some 2nd grade ghosts, 2nd and 3rd grader marker printed Kusama inspired pumpkins, 6th grade Mad Scientist color mixing labs, 5th grade Jim Dine inspired paint brush still lifes, and 3rd grade crayon resists Monet waterlilies.
Join us for some trunk or treating at Sanderson Ford in Glendale. Our school will have 3 different trunks decorated! Starts tomorrow at 4 🎃

Johnny Longhorn came to visit our longhorn scholars today on Western Day. We love seeing our students dress up for spirit week! Tomorrow we'll be going through the decades for our last day before fall break!

Our first graders have been learning about voting during Social Studies time. Last week, they voted on who will deliver our announcements today. Congratulations, Mrs. Castro on getting the first grade vote!
Today our fifth graders were visited by two alumni student who are now student athletes at Maryvale high-school. They gave tips to our students like "when being a student athlete, being a student comes first" and "Always stay on top of your school work"
This week Mr. Brown had his first grade class learn through exploring while teaching parts of a plant. There's no better way to learn than through experince!
We celebrated our Longhorn scholars who scored 100% on last year's AASA assessment today! Congratulations on your success and keep up the good work!
