Bayer Private School

Bayer Private School Bayer Private School--"A Legacy of Learning" The story begins with Tedii Bayer and father, Leon Bayer. What more could you want for your precious child?

Bayer Private School started with a family with a dream, with experience, and with proven success in educating children. Leon was the Superintendent of the Sahuarita mine, 20 miles south of Tucson. On top of his responsibility to the safety of his workers he also felt a strong obligation to their children and their need for an excellent education during a time when opportunities were few. Leon's d

aughter, Tedii, took that same love of education and graduated from University of Arizona to teach in the Washington and Alhambra school districts. Tedii became disenchanted by the public school's approach to educating youth. She felt that the large class sizes overwhelmed the teachers, greatly inhibiting their ability to deal with their students' needs. Tedii and her father spent many nights discussing their desire to find a way to give children the advantage and the foundation they so desperately needed. Tedii dreamed of a school where students had the opportunity to excel in various studies and activities with small classrooms and more individual attention. Tedii and her family began their inaugural school year in 1954 under the name Rancho Solano with one student showing up to enroll. 60 years later, thousands of children have not only found success at this school and it's many campuses, but many also state that their formative years were “the best years of their lives”. In honor of this family's dream and determination to provide quality education we have chosen the name Bayer Private School. The legacy will continue under the Bayer name, which stands for family, love, dreams and student success. 🍿 Learning is always more fun when you can taste it!

Mrs. Hesse's & Mrs. Stanley's beginning kindergarten students popped into a fun exploration of the **sense of taste** last week! Using salty popcorn as their inspiration, our young learners enjoyed a tasty treat while incorporating writing and creativity into the lesson with an accompanying craft. ✏️🎨

Hands-on learning that engages all the senses? Now that's something to celebrate! 🍿✨

🎨🌈 Color was on full display in Mrs. Gevelhoff's art classes!

Our young artists dove into the vibrant world of **Color Theory**, exploring how colors work together and discovering the important role they play in creating beautiful works of art. From mixing and matching to seeing how different colors can complement one another, students learned that there is so much more to color than meets the eye! 🖌️✨

We can't wait to see how they put their new knowledge into practice! ❤️💛💙

💙🐾 A little creativity, a lot of hard work, and one incredibly generous heart!

One of our talented Bobcats recently put his entrepreneurial spirit to work by creating and selling his artwork. But what he chose to do with his earnings made the experience even more special—he generously donated the money he earned to our **Bayer Student Government!** 💙

We are so proud of this thoughtful act of kindness and generosity. What a wonderful example of giving back and using your talents to make a difference in our school community! 🐾✨

🌿🔎 Science is even better when you take it outside!

Mrs. Blankenship's students headed outdoors to put their observation skills—and their sense of sight—to the test! 👀🌱 Young scientists carefully explored the plants around campus, documenting the many ways they were alike and different. From leaves and stems to colors, shapes, and sizes, there was so much to discover in the world around them!

Who knew a walk outside could turn into such an exciting science lesson? ☀️📝🌿

Ms. Gutierrez’s kindergarten students are putting their UFLI skills into practice! They used magnetic letters to build words, then practiced reading from their Reading Wonders books while searching for and identifying repeating words. 🧲✨

Hands-on practice + purposeful reading = growing readers! 💙

🧪🔧 **STEM + TEAMWORK = A GREAT DAY IN THE LAB!** 🔧🧪

Last week, our STEM Lab was buzzing with creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving! Students tackled hands-on challenges ranging from building alphabet trees and lava-proof bear shelters to drawing shapes with string and building cup pyramids without using their hands. 🌴🧸🔷🥤

Each challenge encouraged students to **communicate, collaborate, think creatively, and work together to find a solution.** That’s STEM at Bayer! 💡🙌
