It's official! Our first two days of Outdoor School are scheduled for Thursday and Friday November 5th and 6th. Each day we will leave at 9:15 and return at 2:30. Each of these days, students may be picked up as soon as we return, but it is not mandatory. Students should bring a water bottle, dress in layers for the changing weather, and wear closed-toe shoes. Students may bring a sack or lunch and/or snacks, if they do not want the sack lunch provided by ACCS.

The purpose of Outdoor School is to give students an opportunity to learn by doing. Instead of reading about an ecosystem in a textbook, students might actually walk through one, collect samples, observe organisms, and analyze what they find.
It provides an opportunity for students to build independence, confidence, relationships, and a sense of belonging outside their normal school environment.

If you are interested in volunteering for Outdoor School or any other activities at ACCS, please complete this form for the Phoenix-Talent School District. If ACCS is not listed as an option, select the high school.
