The Howard Center for Investigative Journalism took first place in the Outstanding Student category for the Society of Environmental Journalists' (SEJ) 22nd Annual Awards contest.

The center earned the prize for its “Gaslit” investigative project, examining how regulators were unaware of the amount of greenhouse gases released by oil and gas companies.
