During his visit, RSI instructors showcased hands-on learning experiences and the real-world skills students develop in HVAC, electrical and welding programs. Experiences like these highlight the importance of career training and the growing demand for skilled trade professionals across the country.

Understanding the tools of the trade starts in the lab 💨🔧 At The Refrigeration School, students learn real-world HVAC/R knowledge from experienced instructors. In this video, an instructor breaks down the two common tanks refrigerant technicians work with every day — a recovery tank and a refrigerant tank — and explains why understanding the difference is essential in the field.

Hear from one of our instructors as he shares how the trades gave him the chance to work across the country, build a successful life, and create long-term career stability through hands-on skills.

Skilled Trades Day is a reminder that careers in HVAC, electrical, and welding can open doors, provide freedom, and lead to real opportunities for the future.

Troubleshooting in action at RSI. Watch as our instructor works side by side with a student using electrical “hopscotching” to trace a circuit and find where the issue is coming from. Using a multimeter, they identify whether the problem is an open circuit, broken wire, or interruption between point A and point B.
