Behind my daughters sweet smile is lots and lots of tears. [KEEP READING 👉🏾]
I was doing her hair this weekend because it was WAY past due *Raise your hand if you hate doing hair as much as I do?* But I digress...
As I was beginning to take out her tangled braids one by one her tears began IMMEDIATELY.
If your daughter is anything like mine, all I have to do is pick up the comb while being 6 ft away from her and she begins crying. No matter how softely I untangled her hair, the "Ouch Mommy!" and "That hurts!" began.
Finally after much of her ducking and dodging, I turned her little face toward mine and I told her "It's okay Noa. It doesn't hurt my love"
Her response "Oh, okay Mommy!" and she went right back to watching Encanto with not a tear in sight!
You see, it wasn't the fact that my combing her hair wasn't painful. It was her BELIEF that because I was styling her hair, it MUST mean that it had to hurt, and hurt enough to bring tears.
The moment I explained that my care for her hair wasn't actually hurting, her BELIEF changed, her shoulders relaxed, a smile perched from her lips, and happiness ensued.
What BELIEF SHIFT do you need today?
What LIES do you need to UNTANGLE in order to get out of being paralyzed from inaction and MOVE your ENERGY into productive action toward your God given goals?
I pray that you speak encouring words of truth over yourself. It happened in a matter of words for my 2 year old.
What's possible for you if you did the same?
