TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: MEET MRS. HAWTHORNE!

Meet Mrs. Hawthorne, one of our amazing 3rd Grade teachers at Heatherbrae!

Mrs. Hawthorne is excited to begin her first year teaching third grade at Heatherbrae! Originally from Mississippi, she is looking forward to making this school year a fun, positive, and memorable experience for her students.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Hawthorne is a proud mom of five wonderful children! Family means everything to her, and she loves spending quality time with the people she loves most.

Last week, our parent liason kicked off our English classes for parents! Each participant received a goodie bag filled with school supplies, and we were so excited to welcome 20 parents a FULL CLASS!
We love seeing our families learning and growing together!

Today, our Brighter Bites volunteers broke a record! With 15 amazing volunteers, two Brighter Bites team members, and our staff working together, we bagged 230 bags of fresh produce for 115 families in just 40 minutes!

We are incredibly grateful for our parents, volunteers, and community partners who continue to show up for our Heatherbrae families. These are the moments worth celebrating!

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: MEET MR. SIMPSON!

Meet Mr. Nathan Simpson,our 5th Grade Science and Social Studies teacher at Heatherbrae!

Mr. Simpson is beginning his second year at Heatherbrae and his third year in the district.Throughout his teaching career, he has taught students in 3rd through 5th grades and has developed a passion for helping students explore, question, and better understand the world around them through science and social studies!

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Simpson enjoys:

Cooking
Challenging himself with crossword puzzles
Helping young minds discover new things

And this year brings an extra-special milestone…
Mr. Simpson is getting married in October!

We’re excited to have Mr. Simpson as part of our Heatherbrae family and wish him an amazing school year—and a big congratulations on his upcoming wedding!

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: MEET MRS. HOLLIDAY!

Meet Mrs. Holliday, one of our amazing Heatherbrae educators!

Mrs. Holliday is celebrating an incredible 25th year of teaching and her 19th year at Heatherbrae! During her time as a Husky, she has taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade and has even had the special opportunity to teach some students for multiple years as they looped up together.

A California girl at heart, Mrs. Holliday has called the desert home for the past 24 years. She is also the proud mom of two young men serving in the U.S. Navy.

When she’s not teaching, you might find her:
Traveling
Taking walks
Reading
Cooking
Solving puzzles
Watching sports, especially her favorite Arizona teams!

After nearly two decades at Heatherbrae, Mrs. Holliday continues to make a lasting impact on generations of Huskies.

We are so fortunate to have her as part of our Heatherbrae family!

Our staff brought out the bell bottoms, tie-dye, peace signs, groovy vibes, and lots of smiles to celebrate Mrs. Botello’s birthday!
