Our SUPER Hawks crushed their final Accelerated Reading Goal! Celebrating with an outside reading party with their buddy class last Friday was the perfect way to wrap up the year on a high note. 🎉

On Wednesday, Hopi's third-grade students showcased their creative talents at a poetry slam, where they presented original spoken word poetry to their peers and families, demonstrating remarkable courage and confidence.

The 5th grade PACT students had the opportunity to participate in Words That Sing with our amazing artist in residence, Tessa Karrys. After learning about music terminology and composition, students wrote their own verses, choruses and accompanying music. Our brave students had a blast performing their songs for each other.

Congratulations to Hopi Elementary second-grade teacher Jennifer Fox for being named a semifinalist for the 2027 Arizona Teacher of the Year through the Arizona Educational Foundation!

A proud alum of Tavan Elementary, Ingleside Middle School, and Arcadia High School, Jennifer’s journey has come full circle as she now inspires the next generation in the same community that shaped her. Her recognition reflects the passion, innovation, and excellence happening in SUSD classrooms every day.

Jennifer and the other finalists will be recognized at the Arizona Educational Foundation’s Back-to-School Breakfast on Aug. 7 in Phoenix!

We struck gold with our incredible Librarian, Mrs. Fish, who went above and beyond by bringing the kids' favorite book characters to life for their final week in the library! 📚💫

As Hopi closes out another year, we honored the remarkable legacies of our 5 retiring teachers and staff, whose dedication and passion left a permanent mark on the lives of countless students, parents, and colleagues. ❤️

Last Friday, we celebrated the incredible achievements of our 4th quarter Soaring Hawks! It was a privilege to present both our Math Olympiad and Continental Math Awards, shining a spotlight on our talented students who continue to soar to new heights! 🎉
