As a reminder, Alta Vista is closed during our parking lot remodel. You can find schools that are participating in the free meals program for all children and teens in nearby schools. 💚

Our district has summer meals! Check the schools near Alta Vista and any child can eat breakfast and lunch for FREE! 🍽️

While Alta Vista is closed for the summer, our closest schools are Manzanita and Washington. If you have questions, please call our front office at 602-347-2000.

As a reminder, our parking lot is currently under construction as we work on exciting campus improvements at Alta Vista Elementary! 🚧 Because of construction, our office will be available by phone and email only at this time.

🕢 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

After June 2nd, our office will officially close for the summer and will reopen on:

Additional updates will be shared throughout the summer depending on the progress of our parking lot construction project. 🅿️

The winners of Ms. Miramontes’ Library Bookmark Competition are in! ✨🏆

Thank you to all the students who shared their creativity and love for reading through their amazing bookmark designs. Choosing winners was honestly so hard because they were all so good! 🎨📖

My favorite part? Students left their bookmarks behind for next year’s students to take home and enjoy. 🥹💛 I love that a little piece of their creativity will keep getting passed on in our library.

On the last Friday of the school year, we celebrated our final weekly Aviator winners for the year at Alta Vista Elementary!

These students were recognized for consistently showing respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors throughout the school day. We are so proud of the positive choices they make and the example they set for others! ✨

A big thank you to our Student Council for helping make these weekly celebrations possible all year long. We can’t wait to continue this tradition and celebrate even more amazing Aviators next school year!

Alta Vista has GOT talent! 🎤✨

Last week, we hosted our annual Talent Show, and our Aviators absolutely shined!

Students performed both individually and in groups, showcasing incredible singing, dancing, and so many unique talents. Their courage, creativity, and hard work were amazing to see, and we are so proud of every student who participated!

A special thank you to Ms. Walsh, Mr. Michael, Ms. Tonya, and Ms. Bergstrom for helping with all of the tryouts and making the show possible. And a huge shout out to Ms. Walsh for being an amazing MC and keeping the crowd entertained all show long! 🎭👏

A huge shout out to our amazing Library & Media Specialist, Mrs. Miramontes, for helping create a love of reading and learning for our Aviators all year long.

Here’s a look at some AMAZING library accomplishments from this school year:
📖 14,592 books checked out
📚 732 new books added to the library
🎁 450 books donated to students and families
⭐ 6 Starbooks Days hosted
💵 Approximately $4,000 in donations received
🧩 Created our new “Library of Things” where students can check out books paired with hands-on resources and materials

From reading adventures to innovative learning opportunities, our library continues to be a special place where curiosity and creativity grow. Thank you, Mrs. Miramontes, for all you do for our students and school community! ❤️✈️

These Aviators earned Perfect Attendance for the entire school year — meaning they were at school every single day, were never tardy, and never left early. That level of commitment, responsibility, and perseverance is truly something to celebrate! 👏🏽

To recognize their incredible achievement, our principal hosted a special celebration with pizza, ice cream, and lemonade to show them just how amazing they are! 🍕🍦🥤

A huge thank you to our Student Council for providing the food and to Ms. Vasconcellos for providing the music… they loved it (or maybe not 😉🎶).
