For the first time ever, all of ASU Health came together to celebrate at ASU Homecoming — and we couldn’t have asked for a better debut. More than 900 visitors stopped by our pavilion to explore hands-on activities, meet our incredible students, faculty and staff and experience what the future of health at ASU looks like.

Today marks a historic milestone for ASU Health and the future of medical education.

With preliminary accreditation secured and a transformative, nine-figure gift from ASU alumnus Dr. John Shufeldt, we are proud to officially launch the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering.

Accreditation is never guaranteed, and I’m grateful to the LCME and to our team for their outstanding work. Dr. Shufeldt exemplifies the values we hope to instill in every ASU graduate: service, innovation and a deep commitment to human well-being.
