You know that saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again? While I admire the spirit of persistence, sometimes I feel like we're just banging our heads against a wall. And honestly, the redundancy of "try and try" has always bugged me! Isn't there a smarter way to connect, especially at work?
Think about it. We spend so much time navigating different personalities.
I remember Peyton, a bright team member I managed who, despite their talent, seemed resistant to coaching. Every session felt like an uphill battle, draining my energy and hindering their growth. I knew there had to be a better way to connect and unlock their full potential. I was constantly searching for a better approach, analyzing what clicked and what crashed (a little peek into the "E" of the Personality E.D.G.E.!).
Then, a lightbulb moment. During one session, I decided to really focus on what drove Peyton. I started with genuine praise: "Peyton, that call was PERFECT!" and listed specific reasons why. Their face lit up. "Thanks!" That's my goal, I just need to get better."
Seizing the opportunity, I asked, "You know what could make it more perfect?" (Even though "more perfect felt a bit made up!). Peyton was completely engaged, a side I rarely saw. I offered a suggestion, emphasizing its potential, and promised my support.
Boom. Peyton tried it immediately and saw instant success. Our future interactions were transformed. What I didn't realize then was that I had stumbled upon speaking Peyton's personality language - addressing their core needs and motivations. And the key to unlocking this? The very principles behind The Personality E.D.G.E.
So, what does this have to do with those clichés? While resilience is vital, what if you could achieve success with a few attempts? What if understanding whether your colleague is an "early bird" or a "night owl" (and tailoring your communication accordingly) was more impactful than debating who gets the worm? There is enough pie for everyone to win.
We're excited to introduce (or re-introduce) you to the power of personality types in the workplace and equip you with The Personality E.D.G.E. - a practical tool to create a culture of hospitality where you and your team can reach new heights with less friction and more understanding.
If you're ready to minimize the endless "try & try again" and cultivate a workplace where people feel truly seen and valued, you absolutely need to join our live Zoom workshop: The Personality E.D.G.E.

Let me tell you a quick story. Picture 18-year-old me (Felicia), so excited about my first "real" job. I was learning so much, and feeling like a part of the team. Then came the monthly birthday pizza party - until they decided to make it a lottery. And guess whose February birthday didn't get picked? Mine.
Cue the outrage. The injustice! (Okay, maybe it felt a little dramatic at the time.) I even convinced someone to give me their spot so I could stand up to what I saw as unfair.
Fast forward to the party, and there I was, a determined 18-year-old confronting the COO about the birthday lottery. Let's just say it didn't go as planned. Within minutes, he was yelling, I was stunned, and he was marching off to HR to get me fired.
Crazy, right? For years, I focused on his reaction. "Can you believe that guy?!"
But here's the thing: after learning about personality styles, I realized I played a role too. My own personality, in that moment, showed its weaknesses - a need to be right, a tendency towards unhealthy confrontation, and making it all about me.
Looking back, I see so many ways I could have handled that situation differently, ways that would have actually led to a positive outcome. Understanding personality styles isn't just about understanding others; it's about understanding ourselves and how our natural tendencies can either build bridges or burn them.
Have you ever experienced a similar clash or just any clash where personalities seemed to collide?
Our upcoming FREE live Zoom workshop, The Personality E.D.G.E., can help you navigate these situations with newfound understanding and skill. You'll learn about your own unique personality style, how to recognize the styles of others, and the magic of adapting your interactions to create stronger connections and avoid unnecessary conflict.
Imagine understanding why certain interactions feel effortless while others feel like a battle. Imagine knowing how to communicate in a way that truly resonates with the people around you, whether it's colleagues, clients, or even.... your boss.
Here's what you'll discover:
Your unique personality blueprint: Understand your natural strengths and potential blind spots.
The hidden language of others: Learn to quickly identify different personality styles through observable behaviors
The art of connection: Discover practical strategies to adapt your communication style for smoother, more effective interactions.
Ready to turn those potential clashes into opportunities for connection? Join us for:

Hello there fellow observer,
Do you ever find yourself utterly fascinated by watching people? I know I do! Whether it's the hurried pace at the airport, the simmering impatience in a long line, or simply the quiet moments on a park bench, I'm always captivated by the nuances of human behavior. The someone gestures, their outfit choices, even the ton of their voice - it's all so revealing, isn't it? I've witnessed heartwarming connections and, let's be honest, a few tenses exchanges too.
Before I understood the power of personality frameworks like D.I.S.C. and the Personality E.D.G.E., my people-watching was purely for entertainment. What I didn't realize was that my observations were hinting at something much deeper. There were people I instinctively didn't click with, often colleagues, and I couldn't quite put my finger on why.
Then came the "aha!" moment. Through learning about DISC, I discovered that many of those frustrating interactions weren't about character flaws, but about our different personality styles clashing - and I didn't even know such a thing existed! I also came to realize that I'd been masking my true personality for years (more on that in the workshop - it's a story!).
Now, my "people-watching" has purpose. I not only celebrate my own personality style, but I can also observe others with a new understanding, allowing me to tailor my communication and interactions to their specific style. And guess what? You can do this too!
This isn't just a fun party trick. Understanding personality styles is a game-changer at home, with friends and especially in the workplace. Imagine knowing how to truly connect with your co-workers, the people you lead, or even your boss, simply by speaking their "personality language". This goes beyond just words - it includes your inflections, your body language, the whole package. The result? Improved communication, a more positive work environment, and people feeling genuinely seen, valued and cared for.
Because that's what it's about - connection.
The amazing thing is that DISC personality styles are all about observable behaviors - the "HOW" we do things. Those very things I used to idly observe - mannerisms, outfits, tone, speed of movement, facial expressions - they're all "tells" that reveal someone's personality type.
Want to turn your natural curiosity into a superpower for building better relationships?
Then you absolutely need to join our live Zoom workshop: The Personality E.D.G.E.
That practice I was just sharing about observing those "tells"? That's a key part of understanding the "D" in E.D.G.E.! Trust me, if you're a leader, manager, supervisor, business owner, or anyone who wants to improve workplace dynamics, this workshop is for you.

We can go our entire lives not fully understanding our own personality style, which then also has the snowball effect of not understanding others style too. The truth is, a majority of people are just coasting through life on auto-pilot, which is a subconscious reactive level. As a result, you don't realize you need to make a choice to explore how you are made, celebrate it, and then take the steps to go even further to be curious about other's personality style and interact with them accordingly.
But that's not you. You want to know more about how you were wired (from birth, because it's awesome) and how that impacts your interactions, right?
Fantastic. Thought you did.
The more you learn about yourself and how the world perceives you, the more you're able show up as your authentic self and gain a greater awareness of how to interact effectively with those you work with, lead and manage, and do life with. Essentially, everyone you come into contact with.
You then can apply the Personality E.D.G.E. (more about that coming up) to your interactions and relationships and experience what happens when others feel heard, seen, cared for and yes, even loved because you are speaking their personality language. It's a game and a life changer.
The Personality E.D.G.E. is a tool to gain insight into yourself and others. We will cover what the E.D.G.E. is in our upcoming live Zoom training on May 20th. This material (which is based on the DISC personality styles) has changed our lives and we want to share it with you. We've experienced it change our lives, relationships, business partnerships, workplace team interactions, with strangers... everyone. I still remember when I first learned about DISC over 10 years ago now and it was in that all day workshop my life would take the most dramatic pivot of all time and I catapulted me becoming and living the life I honestly couldn't have even imagined until I learned and applied it. I will share more about it on the Zoom workshop.
On May 20th we will cover the different personality styles, how to begin to discover yours (if you already know, great refresher!), how to identify other's personality and the main focus will be how to interact with others from your style to theirs - boom- shaka-laka! We will also share what E.D.G.E. stands for... at the edge of your seat?

Question to think about: How would you rate your emotions?
A story about emotions...
I was a brand-new Director within an organization, and I was leading and working my job well. In my role…I was getting the results we needed and caring for my 7 team members as we built together.
Until one day…one of my employees approached me. Note: this employee had been with the organization for 5 years and had applied for the same director’s job and did not get it. This employee was actively working to taint my name to the other employees behind my back.
One day, she walked up to me in the parking lot, before I even got to the door, and said “You’re not going to last here. You don’t know this job and you won’t be here long and I have some issues with you.”
Pause/TIME OUT…
I could feel the blood rising in my body (almost to a boiling point). At that moment not quite at work, I COULD let her know about herself and put her in place and allow my emotions to lead me….
OR I can take a pause, put my professional hat on, and speak to her in a professional manner.
I am grateful for the Emotional Intelligence tools I have learned, which one is on how to allow myself to feel my emotions, but not let them RULE me. I was very aware of how I wanted to react, and…OOH BOY I had a good comeback for her.
But my role as her director was to lead from my position, not from my emotions and that is what I did. Because of that, we eventually gained a great working relationship.
Have you had one or several moments like this? Where your emotions RULED you, or you almost let them? …maybe with your family, at work, in ministry, etc.
Where sometimes it went well and sometimes it did not?
Ask yourself the following questions:
- How am I doing, really?
- How am I doing as a spouse, parent, friend, coworker, ministry leader?
- What about with a stranger?
- In the grocery store?
- Driving my car?
- How am I doing with myself? (this is a good one!)
Over the years I have won many encounters like the story I shared with you, and I still lose a few, but what I have learned is how to win way more…and that is the goal.
That is why I am so excited to share these tools with you during the You’re the S.T.A.R.R. of Your Emotions live (free) online workshop. This workshop will be just that - tools on how to be aware of our emotions and win way more!

When fear rears its concerned head, it's not as random as you might think. Fear can often be a response to a past negative experience which something in your present looks an awful lot alike.
You stored that memory, along with the emotions that came with it, in your subconscious. The goal of your having recorded and filed this for reference was to recognize if it were to ever happen again.
While your past contains these experiences, it can be a theft of life's vibrancy to live attached to the effects of a painful past.
There's a way you can remember the event and not feel the pain. There's a way you can move beyond "look where I was harmed" and see it as "look where I have healed". You can go from "see what happened to me" to "see what happened in and for me?"
I call this transition "severing so that you can soar". In our Living Above Fear workshop, we'll discuss this in much greater detail while exploring what was really going on with those moments in your life. What things in your life do you need to sever so that you can soar?
Can you feel the moment for change building? Let's see it all the way through.

Our default reaction is to FIGHT the voice of fear. Learn an alternative on May 14!
In the last post, we talked about the collective overwhelm of all the UNs (unfamiliar, uncomfortable, unwelcome, etc.) and how much it makes things seem unmanageable.
Now, let's admit what we instinctively do in those situations: FIGHT! We naturally resist change, and we all fight for the comfort of the familiar.
Our default response is to fight the voice of fear. We want what's on the other side of it, so fear seems to be only an adversary. (And sometimes our "fight" is "flight" or "freeze": avoidance, escapism, and numbing.)
In Living Above Fear, we will invite (and equip) you to consider and use more successful tools than these to truly live above and beyond fear's fight for safety and sameness. I want you to be pondering, "What else can I do besides fight this feeling of fear?
Get ready to change your relationship with natural fear with the tools of understanding and healthy confrontation. Once we can master our fear-based experiences, we can navigate toward the things we truly want in our lives.
It's going to be a powerful time together and we hope you join in!

Learn all about the UNs on May 14!
We all experience something I call the "fellowship of the UNs'': situations and circumstances which are UNfamiliar, UNcomfortable, UNwanted, UNwelcome, and seemingly UNmanageable.
If only they'd show up less often, only when truly necessary, and one at a time, please!
However, when stretching further or going higher provokes our fear, we can feel the tremendous overwhelm of just one of these; let alone some or all of them coming at us at once.
This is why Life Impact is holding this webinar on Living Above Fear. Fear doesn't just do this to keep us from the bad, it does this even when we are moving toward the good things of growth, reaching goals, and pursuing success.
Come to this webinar ready to change your relationship with natural fear with the tools of understanding and healthy confrontation. Once we can master our fear-based experiences, we can navigate toward the things we truly want in our lives.

Fear: the Squasher, Stopper and Screamer
What is it about fear? What is its power? Why is it such a force, such a problem?
We're not asking about the biblical "spirit of fear", but the natural human fear we all experience. Often in the church world, we focus on the spirit of fear, but too often fail to have an understanding of natural fear.
You may be asking, "what's the difference?". Great question 🙂
The former you want to resist and take authority over; the latter you need to understand it so you can relate to it properly and gain insight into what its trying to tell you - because, it is in fact, trying to tell you something.
With that said, we are excited to announce our next webinar,
LIVING ABOVE FEAR!
In our free online webinar, we will explore how fear is a sneaky squasher of DREAMS, a stopper of PROGRESS, and a screamer of warnings. We will begin to understand how to recognize these experiences when they rise from within.
Finally (the good stuff), we will gain the tools needed acknowledge and address our fear when it's keeping us from real danger AND when it's stifling our greatest aspirations.
It's going to be an impactful time of learning how to live above fear!

Last chance to register for tomorrow’s Soul Awakening workshop!
So, I've been in church for a long time. I've been a believer for over 60 years and pastored over 40. Like I said, a long time ;).
I have heard and seen a lot in that time.
I have also been a counselor and a coach for 40 years too and I have experienced a lot of believers who think that talking about the soul is a bad thing.
That is because they think of the soul as coming from the "flesh".
This is misconception that needs to be debunked. A lot of the issues we see happening are actually due to our soul not being talked about and giving it what it needs.
That is why I am so passionate about teaching on this.
Our soul is actually what separates us from all of God's other creation, so it's probably pretty important. In addition to our spirit and our flesh.
That's why it's so important to have balance in all three - which I will go in depth about in tomorrow’s workshop.
A lot of believers are trying to produce holiness without wholeness, which only creates a spiritual neurosis of the soul.
Ready to learn all about the soul and how to care for it?
Attend tomorrow 4-hour LIVE via ZOOM interactive workshop!
