Today we listened to the book I Ain't Gonna Paint No More which took us on our own creative adventure of self expression. ๐จ
It was like a "yes" day in toddler form. There were no rules (aside from don't paint your friends eyes or mouths) and no instructions. I presented the paint and said "today you ARE allowed to paint yourself or your friends." A time was had! I would say they did a really great job of bringing their creativity to life. No one cried, everyone participated. I'll call that a win!
PS We also found a really strange looking caterpillar ๐ (palm flower moth) that looks like a hotdog ๐ญ so I've named him Oscar Mayer. They usually feed off palm trees ๐ด and more than likely blew off of it but we'll see if we can watch his journey to becoming a moth.

Water day Wednesday!
We searched the ocean for seashells and gems. ๐ It was so much fun to scoop them up and sort them by color, count them and race to see who could collect the most.
We also rescued a baby sea turtle and had so much fun watching him swim around.

Welcome Back!
We came back after a long weekend ready to explore the new toy rotation. Summer has hit the shelves and the vocabulary but we are wrapping up a few last bug projects.
We water colored paper by using droppers to splash color ๐ฆ and later picked bugs to turn our paint splats into. The stencils are a huge hit outside but we took it a step farther and used paint sticks inside of them vs chalk. This was a huge hit!
Friendly reminder: tomorrow is water day! Sunscreen them well before drop off please.

We were at half our crew today so photos are slim but we got in some playdoh squishing, color mixing, story reading and playtime with some new to the playroom toys. It was a really happy day.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. Safe travels to those who hit the road to escape the heat.
See you all on Tuesday.

Thursday was a rough one. We had friends who were in moods that made us pull back from what we had planned for the day but we will be back and running smooth today... I can feel it ๐.
๐ซง Bubbles and movement inside were a ton of fun and a great way to start our morning. They are also obsessed with our sensory tube and love watching the "lava" pass through the tube to the bottom.
We made a sweet Memorial Day handprint craft that I didn't manage to get a single photo of before sending them home. ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Anyway, Happy Friday! It's going to be a beautiful day!
PS Our popsicle stick count is up to 94! If any of you families eat Johnny Pops at home we would love if you'd keep the sticks for us!

Bee ๐ Day!
We recycled an egg carton, dipped it in a tray of yellow paint and stamped out our honeycomb. Then we used a circular sponge to stamp bees ๐ later using thumbs and pinkies for wings and eyes.
We also practiced transferring bees from their hive to their honey bowl, using pincer grasp and crossing our midline. They were frustrated initially but caught on quick. So proud.
Henry had the job of cutting out our bee stamps. He did so well.
He had fun playing in the water today too!

Today we painted our fossils we made of clay yesterday and made the tweetest little handprint birds in nests ๐ชน.
Friendships are building and this little crew really is the best.
Tomorrow is water day! Please cover them well with sunscreen ๐งด before arrival. I appreciate you all so much for doing it. Makes it easier to get them out and reapply as needed.
Friendly reminder I am closed Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day. July through December calendar will be heading home to you all here in a few weeks.
