Adriyen suffered from a torn labrum in his dominant right shoulder, which he later found out that it was an existing injury he’s been playing through. During his entire sophomore season of football and baseball, he had to wait on the sidelines and for his surgery. After his surgery, he found out his mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Adriyen would experience more hardship after the loss of his first cousin in an accident.

Despite all odds, Adriyen has continued to dedicate himself to a healthier lifestyle while continuously working out and going through physical therapy and being a big brother for his younger siblings. In his words, “it’s not what you go through, it’s how you get through it and something great will come from it.”
