Congratulations to Ms. Dorothy Dunnion, a Brophy legend who led the school's theater program for two decades and who has continued to generously support the school in the years since her retirement. Her service and support was recognized at a December reception in her honor with the Black Box Theater lobby introduced as the Dorothy Dunnion Lobby.

Congratulations to Cooper Davis '10 on receiving the Friend of the Community award at the Phoenix Indian Center 2024 Arizona American Indian Excellence in Leadership Awards event on Nov. 22. Cooper teaches in Brophy's Arts & Innovation Department, leads Brophy's sustainability efforts and is the longtime faculty leader of the Brophy Native American Club. His enthusiasm, commitment and tirelessness inspire his students and colleagues. Congratulations, Cooper!
So many of our guys out there making a difference it's hard to keep up... The Hermanos out last week cleaning up their adopted street which they've been committed to for years; a freshman breakaway earlier this month at St. Vincent de Paul; and the Key Club at Desert Mission Food Bank (after spending the entire morning testing on National Testing Day)! Way to go Broncos!
Brophy is proud to recognize Mr. Chris Barreto '84 and Mr. Aaron Redman '01 as the recipients of the 2024 Alumni Awards: the St. Ignatius of Loyola Award for Distinguished Service and the St. Francis Xavier Award for Ignatian Identity, respectively. The awards were presented at this weekend's Father-Son Communion Breakfast.

FOOTBALL / The No. 1 Brophy College Prep football team posted a 54-0 win over Boulder Creek in the first round of the AIA 6A Conference playoff bracket. Junior Harrison Chambers rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown and had two catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. It is the third 100-yard game of his career. Senior Cree Thomas had two interceptions, and sophomore Ryder Noche had a pick-six for a score to pace the defense in the shoutout.

On Wednesday, the Brophy Collegiate Commitment Signing Day ceremony, hosted by the Athletics Department, celebrated the nine student-athletes who committed to playing sports in college.
The Brophy baseball, basketball, golf, and lacrosse programs were represented with players to committing schools across the country, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Washington. The list includes Dylan Boenning, Golf, Washington State University; Hastings Brislin, Soccer (SC del Sol/MLS Next); Tufts University; Ryan Burbach, Basketball, Cornell University; Josh Buse, Lacrosse, Queens (N.C.) University; Ben Geist, Lacrosse, Oberlin College; Jack Lafflam, Baseball, University of Arizona; Benton Hickman, Baseball, University of Arizona; Luke Wieskamp, Basketball, Menlo College; Harrison Yu, Lacrosse, Colorado College.
Many thanks to alumnus Marco Navarro, PhD '09, who spoke to students today about his work as a field application scientist. Marco works for Bruker, a company that develops high-performance microscopes and other scientific instruments.
Marco shared that his interest in biology was spurred at Brophy when he participated in SHEP Biology. He earned his doctorate from Saint Louis University. Thank you, Marco, for sharing your passion and knowledge with us!

SWIMMING & DIVING / The Brophy College Prep swimming and diving team won the AIA Division I State Championship on Saturday with 417.5 points. The Broncos won two individual titles and recorded three top-four relay finishes and ten top-finishes in the finals on Saturday at Skyline Aquatic Center.
