Tonight we gathered to celebrate Baccalaureate Mass, where seniors received Medallions of St. Ignatius of Loyola. It's the final milestone before Graduation tomorrow!

It's the final week for Brophy's Class of '26, but for some of our seniors, the journey began before freshman year. Congratulations to our 14 graduating Loyola Scholars, models of hard work and dedication. Best of luck as your journey continues!

The Brophy community mourns the passing of Fr. Peter Pabst, SJ ’72, a significant figure in Jesuit education whose life was a masterclass in being a "Man for Others." After graduating from Brophy in 1972 and entering the Society of Jesus in 1974, Fr. Pabst returned to campus in 1993 to serve as Rector of the Jesuit community, chair of the counseling department, and psychology teacher.
Fr. Pabst's life's work took him to the Bay Area, where he founded three schools for underserved students and received an honorary doctorate from Santa Clara University. We were proud to recognize his impact on the most vulnerable by presenting him with the St. Ignatius Award for Distinguished Service in 2018.
Please join us to celebrate his remarkable legacy at a memorial Mass this Wednesday, May 20, at 3 p.m. in the Brophy Chapel. Family has requested that attendees wear Hawaiian shirts or colorful attire for the Mass.

This afternoon, the whole school attended our annual Awards Ceremony, recognizing academic excellence, leadership, loyalty and more. We also honored Valedictorian Matthew Hawkins and Salutatorian Colin Goossen, fantastic representatives of our senior class and examples of Men for Others.

The Jesuit Provincials recently issued "Blessed are the Peacemakers," an important call to prayer and action in response to the growing conflicts around the globe. We’re sharing this letter as an invitation for our community to reflect on how we can foster peace—not just in the world at large, but by listening to one another and resisting the polarization we see here at home. Please take a moment to read and join us in praying for the "unarmed and disarming" peace our world needs right now.

Yesterday was a big moment at the end of every school year: our Transitions Mass, where seniors bestow juniors with Brophy pins, passing the torch to the Class of '27. Seniors also received a blessing from the entire student body, preparing them for the future as graduation draws closer.

Congratulations to Dawn Kennedy on her retirement after more than 25 years of leadership as the Executive Director of the Brophy Community Foundation.
Since the Foundation’s inception, Dawn has led the way in generating over $100 million in tuition assistance, creating a lasting legacy of access and opportunity for thousands of families at Brophy, Loyola Academy, and throughout the state of Arizona. Thank you for all you have done for the Brophy community!

Thank you to everyone who joined us today at our annual Brophy Fashion Show. The theme of this year's event, Bound in Brotherhood, is fitting - it's a chance for our seniors to come together and celebrate the bonds they've built during their Brophy journey with friends and family. More photos of the event coming soon!

The Brophy community mourns the passing of John “Buck” Buchanan, whose nineteen years of service were defined by his care and affection for every student who crossed his path. Mr. B often shared that the students were the reason he never wanted to retire. When told yesterday about the hundreds of Broncos who gathered to pray for him, his response was “I love you all.” We honor his legacy by carrying forward the spirit of kindness and brotherhood he modeled for us every day.
Information about his funeral services will be shared when they are finalized. Please keep his family in your prayers.
