The Brophy Student Climate Coalition researched the cost and benefit and proposed a solar project to the Board of Trustees. The Trustees approved funding and yesterday, we dedicated the completed project which will offset our traditional energy use by 48%. The project includes solar arrays over 118 parking spaces as well as solar rooftop panels. Thank you to our partner Ameresco!

We lost a longtime member of our community yesterday with the passing of former coach and faculty member Tim Sanford who worked at Brophy for 30 years. In February, we inducted him into the Brophy Sports Hall of Fame. In 2014, he was inducted into the Arizona High School Coaches Hall of fame.

He became the head football coach in 1985 through 2002 and took the Broncos to the finals in 1996 and 1998. He also taught math and assisted with the track program.

Please keep Tim's family in your prayers.
It was a big night for Brophy Volleyball with a Senior Night celebration, a 25-13/25-17/25-20 win over Hamilton and Andrew Werner '22 getting his 1000th kill! Congrats to Coaches Oldani, Coach Schmidbauer, Andrew and all the Broncos!

On Monday, we welcomed Marc Ashton ’84 and his son, Max ’14 to speak to the students in the Romero Program about the Foundation for Blind Children. The Romero Program is a senior-level theology program moderated by Mr. Tim Broyles which combines interning at an Arizona nonprofit and coursework in the classroom. This year-long praxis learning experience culminates with each student developing a project that addresses a need central to the mission of the student’s partner organization. The FBC is one of those partner organizations.

The FBC was founded by Marc after his son Max was born with visual impairment. Max went on to graduate from Brophy and Loyola Marymount University and returned to teach as a member of the Alumni Service Corps in 2018-19. He now works with his father at the foundation.
