Tree House Tutoring A small, home classroom, for students in K - 6th grade, specializing in reading instruction in one on one and small group sessions.

The instruction or lessons incorporate commercial reading programs that are based on scientific research and are tailored to meet the needs of each student. A typical tutoring session is 60 minutes and will include systematic and direct teaching instruction in:

Phonemic awareness
Phonics
Structured reading or connected text
Fluency building
Vocabulary development
Comprehension
Writing and spelling skills

Progress is monitored during each session. In most cases, formal diagnostic assessments will not be necessary to plan interventions. Formal and informal tests and analysis of student performance will provide essential information for planning instruction. The multi-sensory curriculum incorporates the three learning pathways, which are:

Auditory
Kinesthetic
Visual
