Today's a special day to celebrate, happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science! For some University of Arizona Health Sciences researchers and students, every day is the day of women and girls in science through their participation in the KEYS Research Internship and other campus outreach programs. Engaging girls in science, engineering, technology and math when they are young and encouraging them as they hit middle and high school is a big step toward keeping the women-in-STEM pipeline flowing. As we start 2022, we’d like to introduce (or re-introduce) ourselves. We are the University of Arizona Health Sciences, one of the top-ranked academic medical centers in the southwestern United States and Arizona's only academic medical center.
Here you see the Health Science Innovation Building (HSIB), which opened in 2019. The nine-floor facility is located in the heart of the Health Sciences campus in Tucson. Inside, collaborations flourish among multidisciplinary teams of health professionals, students and faculty in medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health.
